We aren't being shown the metric that matters; how many VR users there are in game.

The whole point of all of this is to get people to buy VR and socialize using VR. VRChat is a free game with a $400 DLC, you might as well consider desktop users to be like people on a free trial, they don't matter except that they might become VR users.

With that in mind I think everyone can agree that there are probably 5x more VR users in VRChat now than there were in November, and most likely the concurrent VR user figures are still strong and maybe even going up since people who bought into VR are having way the hell more fun in game than the desktoppers are.

This isn't a subscription MMO, the # of players isn't that important, all that matters is that there are enough people to have a fun community, draw new people in, make cool shit, and make a case for owning VR.

Can't speak for the one anon but there's usually some small challenge or request you need to fulfill. I've had to get most of my models under the 20k limit for example since they didn't want to bend the rules, which was more work than it would have been had I just been converting a model for myself. One wanted a texture that glowed, one wanted some texture changes made to the model, etc. It's small things like that, and that's kinda why you're getting paid for it. But there are a few that are just "can you port this to vrchat" and it's literally just that if you're lucky.

Check the VRcat comission forums for people seeking and offering for an idea of what people do/want. There could be others too if you google for vrchat forums.

If you imported using the CATS plugin, click 'separate by meshes' in the CATS section on the left. Then you should be able just click the medal on you avatar and delete it. If not, the section on the right should have a part that says 'armature'. Open that up with the plus or arrow next to it or whatever and then there probably 'body'. Open that up too and keep going until you find the medal. Then right click and delete. Make sure you click 'join meshes' on the CATS at the left after you've deleted it.

I'm clueless too but I managed to learn some basics. Dont give up.

How does VRChat figure out eye tracking from the position of eyebones? I've spent hours adjusting the bones slightly to see what it does and it's incomprehensible. Rotating the bones in blender and Unity both produce expected results but as soon as it's uploaded and tested in game the eyes rotate to a strange default position (usually looking down extremely low, which causes the character to do an extended lower-eyelid blink)

Where should the bones be in relation to the pupils? CATS can't get it right, I want to do it manually but I don't know what VRChat expects.

Just export the model as a new one from blender, then delete the old one in unity and import the new one you just made. If you just delete the model and keep the textures in the assets, it should put the textures on the model when you import it in.

Well, good luck with that 100k model, because it's going to break in unity anyway. You don't have to atlas everything into one material, either, you can do individual sections for transparency, or whatever, by separating the mesh, highlighting the pieces you want and hitting ctrl+j to make it a group, then going from there like you'd normally atlas. The only extra strep after that is deleting the old UVMap and renaming the new atlas to UVMap before rejoining the meshes together again. You don't have to have a single material, but having them under 10 is ideal.
