Alright what the fuck is going on with this game? A month or two ago everything was working flawlessly. Maybe I'd get one freeze-up every 30 minutes that only lasted a few seconds.

Now I am freezing at least once a minute, sometimes even more. I am getting sent back to the lobby constantly. I'm getting the "No HDMI connection can be found" error constantly. What the fuck happened here? It's literally almost unplayable now. This is happening even in worlds where there's less than 10 people.

The issue isn't with the models. The issue regarding lag and models comes from excessive amounts of dynamic bones, light sources, and materials, on which there are no limits. Polygon count has nothing to do with it. Your computer can render millions of polygons without trouble, even if it's a basic setup that's not dated.

Th 20k limit is something even the devs themselves admit was unnecessary, the difference between a 20k model and a 64k model is next to none.

The real performance problems are caused at their root by the fact unity is shit, the devs are shit and the game only uses a single thread for a majority of the taxing CPU computations.

Having to hit the enemy multiple times using low resolution iron sights with no stock on a weapon that not only recoils up and sideways but also has cone fire through dodgy netcode at 200 ping is far too random to be enjoyable for me compared to just shooting the enemy and seeing them go down.

Team deathmatch is too much of a clusterfuck with enemies spawning behind you constantly as well, so S&D is the only game mode which is pretty much the same for both games.

Many like happy on open hand because it's natural and easy to hold.

Finger Point is a no go because finger pointing is useful

Gun's gesture is too similar to finger point. Good chance you'll accidentally trigger by trying to point.

Rock n Roll and Thumbs Up are good for anything you don't want to accidentally trigger.

I've always regretted putting anything on Peace because it''s so easy to accidentally trigger it for half a second. You would think peace would be a perfect fit for tongue but then you'll be randomly sticking out your tongue whenever you do anything.

Closed Hand is good because most models don't even have bones that close their hand well making it good to replace with a gesture.

You say that, but VRchat has multiple layers of safety net that make being mute not only easier, but effortless in many cases. I talk perfectly fine when I need to irl, I just don't like doing it.
For example irl being silent and communicating with pen and paper would get people awkwardly questioning you very quickly. In game, snail markers are commonplace.
Same with escaping situations you really rather wouldn't bother with. Irl you're stuck socialising until you get done with it, in VRC the solution is a block or world change away.

For the first you'll have to tweak the d.bone settings like you said, the latter you can achieve by adding an animation component to the model. Same place in the hierarchy where the animator and avatar descriptor go.

Make the animation either by moving/rotating the bone or using shapekeys, then set it to legacy and playback type to loop. If you use shapekeys however, note that if you have any gesture overrides that also control the same key, it will break the looping animation until you reload the avatar.

Assuming that's a CM3D2 import, the choker is probably mapped to some nonsensical bone that isn't actually parented to the neck. Go find it using pose mode in blender and parent it to the neck

I think there are two sides to the story

One hand you have these models being taken for something that they weren't intended to be used for. Out of a probably tight community that isnt used to things like this happened. Taking their models without asking and using them as they please for who knows up. They ended up putting a lot of work into the model so they probably don't like that its going on.

On the other hand their models get used a bunch more and its basically free advertising, when you see a super great quality model you think man I'd really like to use this as well! It might even bring more people into the MMD community because they want to learn about how to make models.

I've done 4 hours a day in the past and in some ways its worse. It takes the same amount of time to prepare for and travel to. My perception of time at work seems to be relative to the length of the shift, rather than objective, so shorter ones seem to drag on and on. It certainly gives more time outside of work though.

I think the ideal is actually doing a few extremely long shifts a week then having more days off.
