Hey, beginner nobody to 3D model stuff. I uploaded a couple of models, and wanted to try something more advanced. I know my way around Blender, I just never messed with rigging skeletons, adding bones to existing hierarchies, or animating.

Found a Dark Swordsman model from Kirby Planet Robobot, and I guess I wanna give him invisible arms and hands for grabbing stuff. Plus, he's gotta have a floating movement animation override. Seems pretty ambitious to me.

Not really. Go into your user preferences (under File), and enable the Riggify addon. That'll give you a default human skeleton. Delete the extra bones that come with it (IK bones under feet, chest bones, face bones), then parent your model to it. For the floating animation, just place your model halfway up the skeleton and add some dynamic bones to that robe in unity. You'll have to mess around with assigning vertex groups, though.
