Are there any good resources for learning the basic differences in lighting setups? I have Environment Lighting set to my Skybox, and one directional light to give the map some shadows. I'm finding some of the map to be too dark, but if I put in another directional light, it becomes too bright. Should I be setting up spotlights or something in various areas?

Are your lights baked? For out door maps I think you can usually get away with a single directional light. I believe most people use subtractive baked global illumination for outdoor maps, where the main directional light is the only one that casts shadows on dynamic objects, with other lights only providing light but not casting shadows.
You can try looking at the unity tutorials, they seem decent enough.
If some areas of your map are too dark you could try lighting them up with baked point lights. For interaction with moving objects I believe you need to use light probes with baked lights, I don't have much experience with that though.
You're probably better off asking advice from other anons who have better lit maps. I'm struggling to find a decent configuration for mine atm.

Not him, but let's be serious for a second. The only reason the ones who get namedropped often are "better" are because they play more often. They can dedicate huge amounts of time to playing the game and being involved with the community. But if you'd just go and get to KNOW some of these anons who can't play the game as much, you'd know how nice and caring they can be.
