What's the preferred method for spawning with rigidbodies? For static props people have mentioned scale shapekeys but for physics objects I'd imagine that's not really a good idea.

You will have to make your vr set up irl be as easy to get in as possible. Our brain is wired to be as lazy as possible taking the easiest approach, that little hump of vr set up is whats preventing you from enjoying friends. Go make a makeshift set up where you can access your headset from a manequin head and the controllers are also nearby. The sensors must be in a location you will never move ever. The usb for the headset must be near the usb port so you can just plug it in whenever.

This is some sage advice. I believe that this is a huge problem for VR at the moment. It's a hassle to get everything going and people are absolutely lazy. Little psychological barriers to doing something really add up. For instance I use my vive way more after I got the new audio strap just because I don't have to futz around with headphones are getting everything to fit right anymore. Before that even though I love VR just the thought of having to go through that made me decide against using it many times.
To some degree too having a compelling experience like VRchat to hop into has made it easier.

I'm looking forward to the next gen of VR when they hopefully get most of these usability bugs fixed. We need lighter/more balanced headsets and really some sort of wireless solution nailed down for VR to become more widespread.

i haven't updated my nvidia drivers in a while, nvdia drivers have had some real issues with vr before, try rolling back.
i also disable AA sometimes since that's what SS is aleady doing. using a gtx 1070 oc to 2ghz, most games work fine at 1.6-1.8 with some reprojecton, and games like vrchat can go to like 2.0 or even more and that shit looks so fucking crispy.

It was fun playing with /vg/ back in 2016, but the constant grind at endgame turned me off of it. I came back for like, a day before new years and while the grind's gotten better the community hasn't.
Full of BRs and russians, there's no dungeon roulette equivalent so nobody runs old content unless it's a daily challenge, people have outrageous gear demands to get in parties to run the newest content and if you don't keep your feet firmly planted on the treadmill you'll fall behind and never catch up.
