Hold on one fucking second. What if there really was a way so that one could get the Vive and Oculus tracking systems working together? That is, say, you get a Rift, and then you get a Vive, and then you use the Vive controllers as trackers, and then buy another tracker to use for your hip. That would cost 500+400+100=1000 dollars. Compare that to Vive+trackers which is 500+100+300= 800 dollars. In other words, you could have the current best VR system with full body tracking that's not the Vive Pro for a little bit more money, plus you get the ability to upgrade to Knuckles if/when that comes out. Plus you probably won't have to deal with HTC customer support because you won't really be using the hardware as intended, so less chance of that stuff breaking.

Or maybe someone finally manufacturers their own Lighthouse base stations and trackers for cheap, that'd be nice.

The kinect hack works by emulating three vive trackers to openvr/steamvr, so I bet the actual hardware would work together as well. Just spend the $1000 and find out for us, anon.

I actually wonder how hard it is to make some sort of custom tracker with the oculus cameras. At least the DK2 camera was a standard UVC video feed so in theory you could make a little IR-led studded belt and socks and do the pose triangulation yourself in opencv or similar.

Another silly idea I had for ghetto full body tracking was to modify the kinect emulation thing to instead take input from a gamepad and just map the stick XY to the hip bone XY. Then you could put an extra controller on the floor and sort of twiddle the thumbstick with your toes to wiggle your hips around in game. Other free terrible ideas: use a wii balance board connected over bluetooth to control the hip bone XY, for realism. Or use a DDR pad to control the feet bones in a coarse manner.

The consumer cameras are just simple webcams, so that should work. The only real problem is vive trackers will still be better than custom oculus cameras so you might as well use pucks unless you want to do something where pucks are too heavy or not numerous enough, like erection detection, tracking pets, or mounting the camera on yourself and tracking your environment.

Why does snailmarker only ever work for me when I do them first and then expressions? Whenever I want to add snail after doing expressions it makes none of them usable in vrchat including the marker. Have you used both headsets? Usually people say the Oculus headset is a bit more comfy and like it more.
Having all that crap to setup is pretty bad, though at this point the entire experience is generally pretty bad as far as the amount of work you might have to put into the setup goes. And anyway, the Oculus sensors can screw into the Vive basestations so it's not completely shitty to setup.

I just fucked around with TheWaveVR for an hour or so, shit is pretty cash if you're into DJing or electronic music shit. You get a rudimentary 2 track DJ with big chunky faders and filter knobs that you twiddle with the controllers, and a bunch of rando EDM tracks to play with. It also has two XYZ pads (cubes?) you can effect filter cutoff, bitcrush, flanger by pushing your controller through it, cute. Also basic VJ stuff like particles, skyboxes, and apparently multiplayer (but I have no VR friends so..). It's no traktor for sure, I couldn't even figure out how to do basic scrubbing through the track. I also clipped through the floor a couple times and had to restart the entire program, but overall pretty amazing for a free beta thing. I'd post screenshots but couldn't figure out how.

I wanted to get into draw fagging but never could stay motivated enough to make progress after I first started. Might pick it up again some point in the future who knows. So no not really from /ic/ I've just lurked most of the boards here at some point.

I think the practice will definitely help. Obviously you have the skills there, just maybe a bit rusty on the perspectives and constructions bit. Also looks like you're more accustomed to drawing proper realistic head proportions than anime-ish ones which tend to have the child like head-body ratios.

Upload is a success but my issue didn't get fixed.
My avatar seems to have sunk a few inches into the ground.
At first, I thought it was because of the way my skeleton was rigged.
The feet bones were raised and off the floor so I assume the engine brought my avatar lower to make the feet bones contact the ground.

I rerigged the avatar making sure the feet bones are touching the floor plane but after testing in-game again, the issues remains.
