Unlike Aladdin, Djinns (Genies) are an evil race who are constantly trying to invade and dominate our realm. They grant wishes, but take your soul as payment, and also usually twist the words to fuck you up. If they are able to secure three wishes from the one who woke them, then they will have enough strength to invade and rule. Some blonde lady ends up waking a Djinn in modern (90's) times and great times ensue.
It has excellent practical effects, a fantastic actor playing the evil Djinn, and plenty of hilarious deaths.

First, run the cats visemes to get the ones that work out of the way. Go to your model's shape keys, set the face as you want it, and select "Create new key from mix" from the drop down menu next to the + and - buttons. Then delete the faulty cats generated shape key, and rename and move your new one to its place. Repeat for all necessary.

Did you follow Tupper instructions?

1. Close Unity.
2. Find your Project folder with Windows Explorer, and find the Assets folder.
3. Delete the VRCSDK folder, as well as the VRCSDK.meta file in the Assets folder.
4. Go into Plugins (if you have that folder) and delete the VRCSDK folder, as well as the VRCSDK.meta file in the Plugins folder.
5. Relaunch Unity, and then re-import the freshly-downloaded SDK. Do so by going to Assets, then Import Package, then Custom Package.
6. Select the new SDK (you probably saved it in Downloads)
7. Wait a moment, and click "Import" in the bottom left. If any files in the list are greyed out/unchecked, and you can't check them, you didn't delete everything you should have! Start over.
8. Wait a minute as the SDK finishes importing.

I'd just dick around in the top active worlds to familiarize yourself with them and vrchat in general, and maybe talk to some random people if you're into that. Exploring random maps off the new/featured list is fun too, but a little bit lonely solo. If you want an exploration partner or two, just ask in the thread and somebody is usually up for it. I would be myself, but I won't be on until monday unfortunately.

As for movement, it depends a lot on the person, how well you've fit your headset to prevent blurriness, and sometimes even the specific avatar's viewball. You'll probably get acclimated to it after a while.If you do feel consistently motion sick you can try turning on the holoport movement thing in system settings which apparently helps. Or take actual dramamine.

Some screenshots from a comfy map exploration tour with this cute dork yesterday. It was a lot of fun. If you've ever found the meetups a little too crowded (and/or laggy) for comfort, I'd recommend trying out some /exploring/. It's a really different vibe, less like going to a party and more like an IRL hiking trip.

the issue however, is that it not only takes forever to upload because you are uploading an entire movie along with it, but it takes forever to download as well, because you are downloading an entire movie with the map.

the whole point of including the movie on the map is to avoid the audio desync that comes with streaming it from somewhere else into the game. plenty of people do it and it works. but it means that it's a toss up whether the audio's gonna sync to the movie. you may end up several seconds off and its really bad sometimes.

Hiking in vrchat is surprisingly fun. "hiking" here meaning "smash that muddafuckin jump button while ramming your avatar against the heightmap, craning your neck straight up to see anything. Hard-mode platforming.

No screenshots unfortunately, but we also climbed around the outer meshes of the halo 3 valhalla map, around this disgusting stomach map, and even around the spirited away bathhouse map. VRbex. pVRkour. I dunno.

FYI, desync occuring is a Unity bug. It is fixed in... 2017.3, I think? I most often run into it when I alt-tab and do other shit that hits CPU.

I was being a dick. Throwing ML at problems is not a solution-- my previous job was in data analysis where everyone thinks every problem can be solved with ML/tensorflow/mapreduce (protip: they cannot).

well dont knock tensorflow machine learning, its pretty good shit and once its advanced enough will probably be a pretty good framework for true ai. this is the precipice of true ai, and menial grunt work tasks are, i believe, tensorflows strength. wether it be a runescape bot or doing a bit of shit here and there on a unity scene to make it compatible, that said you cant slam tensorflow at an unknown (yet) and have it just werk

I got a really stupid question I can't seem to find info on anywhere but I know vrchat scales down anything assigned to the head vertex group on your model right? Is there a certain value that it needs to be weighted for before it begins scaling it? I've been told to just assign it at 0 before but that hasn't been working for me, it's a painfully common issue but no-one seems to have the answer when I've asked other places and I don't know anyone else that could go ask the mod team exactly how the system works for shrinking people's heads.

From what I understand the shader pipeline changed between 5.6 and 2018.1 and that means all shaders have to be recompiled, which happens at the project build-time. I think. Probably. Again, I'm parroting what engis say and I might be mistaken on precisely what the issue is.

im no expert but i'd wager that its minute differences in code that are not the same.
if the version of unity was identical to the last version it wouldn't be much of an upgrade. There's a reason it's an upgrade. it's not just tacking extra things on but tweaking existing ones.

I've had the collar on Musashi like 15% weighted to the head and it still blocked my view unless I put the viewball in front of the forehead area. I've also recently tried weighting it to the chest and parenting it to the head. Does it require being weighted solely to the head and nothing else? Would that result in it not following the torso movements?
