I say make a trap Teto with a small bulge for it. Would be cute. More color variations of all the "bases" would be cool too.

But I wouldn't change too much with the room itself. It's good, and doesn't need hidden rooms or puzzles, part of the joy of it is that there's a few things to play around with and all the avatars are pretty easy to find, with plenty of strategically placed mirrors and no annoying music on big screen tvs. Overall, a nice chill vibe. It's probably the best avatar world there is.

If you wanna do something drastically different, make another world. I'm sure you'd make something amazing. And I don't mean amazing like the I want to kill myself room.

Thanks - I understand the balance between simplicity and features is a bit subjective and what-not. I want to change the layout to use one mirror, with the bulk of the avatars taking a portion of a semi-circle, with the mirror at the open-side of that semi-circle. I guess this actually brings the scale of the map down, so that does make me question where I'd put other things like jumping puzzles and random props.

That reminds me - I really need to learn how to actually change the origin point of an object (in Blender). That move-origin-to-cursor shit does not work. I hate how some of the props feel like shit because their origin point is like a meter below the prop itself.

Just noticed something trying to squash some FBT woes. Anyone with a problem with their busted shoulders on their CM3D2 models with FBT should take a look at their weight painting. It seems the custom maid model puts alot more emphasis on the shoulder bone, and the upper arm has no effect on it at all. I'm wondering if FBT IKs ignore the shoulder bone all together and that's why it instantly fucks up.

Likely if you just attempt to get it similar to a standard MMD model it should improve it a shit ton.

so let me ask for some ACTUAL avatar help.

im importing a source model to vrchat. its got shoulderpads split into individual files each. Each with their own armatures.

now, importing all of the shit into blender and hitting fix in cats seems to fix everything and join it all, but the shoulderpads are glued to the arms in tpose, instead of functioning as they should. (aka staying upright while following arm movements)

how fix?

do the best you can, but generally, below 10 is optimal, even less is better.

take everything into consideration

>polycount
>materials
>individual textures (things like normal and bumpmaps count too)
>dynamic bones
etc

so if you have a gorillion dynamic bones try to compensate with the other aspects, if you have a lot of materials, try putting fewer 9if not none) dynamic bones, etc etc

play around. but below 10 drawcalls is usually best, though i imagine most people have nigher than that.

I was playing with a model that with flat toon lit is 4-8 drawcalls, only 5 dynamic bones total . the moment I switched to standard shader and added normalmaps and bumpmaps it shot up to 115 drawcalls.

i have not yet looked at my models using the mmd/flat hybrid
