It's literally nothing under 65k. You'd need so many players for this to even approach the poly rate limit of any graphics card that the game would have imploded from other processing long before.

VRAM usage is probably an stealth killer of frames. I was using several hundred MB of textures before without realising because I presumed they would be the same size as the PNGs, not 20+ times larger in game.

You can put custom maids on a 2k atlas. What I do is select all, scale to 25%, look which textures are 1k in the original folder and line them up in a grid, then look how large the other textures are and scale them accordingly. You can make some even smaller if they're just flat colours, like glasses.

An alternate solution if you're competent in Photoshop or whatever is to fill in some more colour (essentially create a larger "margin") along that seam in the middle of the face, if you'd rather not re-arrange your atlas. This has worked for me every time in the past and saves atlas space.

In layman's terms, a Stand is a reference to JoJo's Bizarre Adventures where a guardian spirit materializes to fight with its owner.
Stands are akin to Personas in the Persona games, if you know about that.

Fixed joints is a unity function where you can link two objects together so they can perform in tandem.
In this setup, the bones of the stand is linked to the bones of the main avatar, so when the avatar moves, the stand moves with the avatar.
It's really fun to look at in that MMD dance stage.

As for the ragdoll, I'm not too sure but from the very brief look I gave it you need to set simulate physics on the object. Which I guess you would activate on the trigger of the player letting go of the pilot after grabbing them.

Hell no it's not too late, especially with playmaker coming Soon™. It's definitely fun for a newbie, although I think as you learn more and more about avatar making and particles and etc. it gets even more fun. Being able to imagine doing something and then having the skills to eventually make it a reality is just so cool. You really begin to feel like you can do whatever you want, make whatever you want, and do it all as if it was real life.
