Incredibly fucking easy, download OpenBRF, look through the BRF files for the model you want, right click it and "export static mesh". Look at the model's material field in OpenBRF for the texture you'll want to find in the texture folder. It'll export as an .obj file which you can import straight into unity.

They're quite low quality models usually but that means it's all pre-optimized and pre-atlased.

I guess there's just something fucked up with the mapping on the eyes. Everything else is fine. Weird.

Tried VR for the very first time today (htc vive) at a store's demo booth
The helmet was less bulky than I expected and more comfortable (though the back strap might've needed adjusting)

It felt a bit more... narrow? than I was expecting?
Like I was looking through a scope. I obviously wasn't expecting 180 degree peripheral vision displays but it felt a little tunnel-vision
It was also kind of blurry near the middle but I assume you have to configure interocular distance or something and it's not a fault of the tech

Unfortunately the controller wands or w/e they're called weren't charged so I didn't actually get to play anything, just sorta look around, which isn't a total wash since I was mostly checking for eye strain and comfort

Overall not what I was expecting but still impressive

I thought VR would kinda "Reinvigorate" my drive to play Skyrim, but I'm just not feeling it. Melee is still unresponsive outside of shield bashes, magic doesn't have enough spell variety, and stealth is broken.

I know how to mod SkyrimVR, and I'm running a crazy amount of texture/model mods.

Nah, disabling the particle system itself will also remove any particles it creates. What you want to animate is the spawn rate for the particle emitter. Have it set to zero, then maybe spawn one particle a minute or something when you do the gesture or emote that spawns it. That'll make it spawn one, but without accidentally spawning any extras that you don't want.
To remove it, have another gesture or emote that changes the lifetime to something super short or disables and re-enables the particle emitter.

On the contrary, I think Stellaris and RTS games fit VR quite well, because in the end VR isn't necessarily about putting you in the role of someone in a story, it's about immersion. In a similar way a bigger TV, a pair of headphones, etc may let you have a more immersive experience with your media, taking advantage of VR technology, you can make almost any game more immersive, except a lot more than those other upgrades. The problem is doing a port in a way that makes sense. Sometimes, it can be more or less challenging. I think even completely 2D games like Terraria could benefit just by playing it on a virtual screen with an insanely high resolution so that you can see more of the map, and with it wrapped around you slightly. Although in Terraria's case sprites might be too small to be enjoyable for current VR headset resolution limits.

I got to watch two anons play regular videogames for a few hours on bigscreen VR a few weeks ago. They were both streaming at the same time, some metroidvania pixel art game and a deckbuilding card game rouguelike IIRC. It was a lot of fun actually, being able to watch other people play games from across the internet, but different than, e.g., twitch streams and text chat.

Bigscreen has some nice bloom/reflection effects too, which makes it more immersive than, e.g. the amphitheatre map in VRC. Bright lights in the movie actually light the rest of the environment. Shame about the no animu avatars though.

I don't know why people praise pavlov so much. It doesn't encourage properly aiming at all, it's just better to get good at hipfiring because it's faster. Onward at least is slow paced enough to allow aiming.
Currently though I think the resolutions of HMDs are too low for me to enjoy pvp games, I struggle to see people if they are on a similar colour backdrop.

My pov moves into the right position, but catching a glimpse in a mirror and my fucking head barely moved at all. It's embarrassing as fuck to think of all the kisses where from everyone elses pov I was just moving my chest into their face.
It seems like I have to do a squat and stick my face into their chest to get it lined up and hope we're surrounded by mirrors to try and triangulate this shit

Il2 sturmovik battle of stalingrad/moscow etc work in VR. I think there is a way to zoom even in VR to help with target ID, and you could also play with enemy nametags that appear within a certain distance in single player.

I know it's patently obvious who am I, but I'm getting hit with all these previously unknown social connections within /vrg/ that existed before VRChat and it's giving me big oofs every time.

I'm just reminded of how different I am to everyone else. I came to VRChat and bought VR to be the anime girl. I thought /vrg/ was a collection of people like me, but now it seems more like it was another game for people to play with their friends. If I wasn't here, I'd literally be a nameless, faceless anon, and that would be my social life.

It makes me feel like a total fraud and wonder what the fuck I'm doing here. Like I'm fooling everyone into thinking I'm someone I'm not, that I'm someone worth knowing and talking to. Like I'm deceiving people and wasting their time. I kinda feel that way with the drama - I feel quite disconnected from it, like an observer who is kinda happy to watch people conflict and for things to burn in a way.

The fact that I've been involved with the VRfu business and turned people down is ridiculous in this light.

I'm kinda now anxious about how much longer this ride goes and if I'll turn back to total isolation afterwards.

Will we ever host another /vrg/ fanfic reading? I've heard of one or two stories in the works.
