If you're using it as a headset for static games like ED, Assetto, War Thunder, ect it would work fine. Anything that uses controllers though- Robo Recall, Budget Cuts, VRC- it would struggle badly.
WMR doesn't use wall mounted sensors to track your controllers/headset, it uses built in cameras on the headset that only face forwards. You need to keep your controller in view of your face or they lose tracking, which is rough for games that have them move off to the side- anything more than seated desktop ports and very basic "proper" games would be a struggle to play

I think your normals are inverted. Thats why its transparent on the outside and you're seeing texture on the wrong side. You should be able to select all those vertices that are displaying wrong in edit mode, hit spacebar, and type normal then look for an option that says invert them or whatever. At least I think, I haven't actually dealt with that issue before. An even lazier fix would be to just use an outline on cubed's shader.

Incorrect because final IK and voice and some other stuff on the devs sides mean we're in for a bad time no matter what. Reducing materials is memed so hard because it's the only thing we really have control over. The other stuff in the game hogs so much of your CPU we realistically can't handle many draw calls, but hypothetically should be able to handle a shitload of them

It would only POSSIBLY (big possibly) help if it was an avatar pedestal. If you're 1 mesh 1 material you aren't guarenteed to be optimized, especially if you're using cubed. Cubed sports less features and more performance overhead than say NoeNoe's toon shader (without the cubemaps being used)
