The "First Contact" thing on Oculus Rift, with the robot in the RV, there's got to be some easter-eggs in there right?
I know about the secret developer credits vhs cassette that you can play, along with the three others tucked away in the area, on the television to your right but there's something that makes me have the big think;
The computer to the left of the 3D printer has a display readout, a toggleable switch and five pressable buttons. The switch also has a label under it showing that UP is maybe "off" or "Blue", i'm not sure. either way toggling it doesn't seem to do anything.
THEN, on the opposite side, underneath the working tape player is another computer with a display which has two buttons on it which make the display cycle between a few images and it also has a floppy drive which accepts the floppies the robot gives you! They slot in, sit there for a moment and then simply eject.

There's got to be something more going on here right? Some combination of actions that produces a new diskette or something? The robot didn't seem to be expecting the result of the golden floppy, do you think the actions of that can be changed somehow?

These 3 are my go-to VR demo games for good reason. H3VR is listed as Vive only in the store but it has rift support and probably works with WMR too, although you might have some trouble with a few guns because of hand position.

Controllers will lose tracking if you move them outside the field of view of the cameras for too long. Upside is easy Room-scale with no base stations. Really if they just offered like one base station as a supplemental tracking or added a camera to the back of the headset the tracking could be flawless.

Hate to spoil a goofy fun thing with tech support, but does anyone have any tips or recommendations for stitching together large sections of a body base. I can't be swinging around a greatsword without shoulders and the armor I've picked out so far only covers the chest, so I also need the stomach and back from something (at least down to mid stomach).

Is there a good way to extract assets out of vrchat itself? Like for instance the invite icon as a transparent image, or the mute icon, or the nameplate background.

Well I flipped a coin and went with Vinyl Reality, which thus far seems extremely well polished and just works.
I've got my decks running, listening through the rift headphones, hands-free cueing through a "virtual headphone" system that seems to work fine and the resulting audio is also being pumped out through my desktop amplifier to my main speakers but could easily be going to a stream/whatever.
It has Oculus Avatar integration too which while totally pointless is always a nice sight.

A lot of the files that I would use for "performance" are MP3 but it seems to handle FLACs just fine too, which I assumed it wouldn't, so that's saved me a bit of hassle too. It's barebones with just a basic 2-channel mixer but it works well and that's the most important part.

I've played on the wave decks a lot myself actually and while they're basically a toy in terms of actual quality and use they do have some features that this one lacks, the 3D spatial FX being an obvious one where both vinyl reality and reality decks both only have 2-channel mixers and low/mid/high filters.

You could explore the dungeon, which was pretty neat, but every floor was through a portal and it tossed you into an invite map with everyone else when it did that.

But i'm pretty sure it's possible to abuse these things enough where it's not the main board or the front panel ribbons that are the problem, it's the minuscule ribbons attached to the individual sensors or front panel internals that are fucked.
Not only does it not track but the front panel menu button barely seems to work and pressing the two buttons to go into sync mode takes over 20 second of holding the buttons down then the blue light pulses slowly when the working controller goes into sync mode instantly and blue light pulses rapidly.

I was planning to buy Subnautica when it goes on sale again and torrented it to try it out in VR, but it doesn't really work. At first I was getting shit framerates and weird hud placements, and on my second try the game ran smoothly, but crashed as soon as I was able to walk around.
Does the game always run this poorly or might there just be something wrong with the torrent?
Also, when I quit the game everything in VR will continue to run poorly until I restart the Oculus app, I had the same problem with Dead And Buried. What's going on?

Honestly Subnautica isn’t the best as a VR game. Mainly because you have to use a normal controller or your keyboard to move around, I tried using my oculus controllers for it but you can’t really do anything.
