Good! I'm sick of buusta going around in that stupid "Australian" accent bullying everyone then demanding selfies. His avatars are unoptimized too which is why he has so many.

Why do people say having anything below 10 (or similar high number) materials is ok? If there's a meetup with 30 people that's 300 materials... If we all just stick to atlasing and having like 2-3 matrials each (which is extremely easily doable) that would only be <90 materials in the meetup. 300 is not ok when we can so easily achieve 90 and below. And don't even get me started on dynamic bones.

Honestly, the fact that dynamic bone, inverse kinematics, positional sound and the such are not on another thread or the GPU sounds very stupid to me. VRChat only has this extreme issue with draw calls because so much of the application is exhausting only 1-2 threads, and under-utilizing the GPU.

The problem with VRChat is VRChat. Just stop having big meetups. Chill with like 5-10 people, you'll probably have a better time anyways.

It's not even just a simplified avatar, with one material. Because then you still have IK, the main killer of your CPU. If you have 20 people with 1 material, low-poly humanoid avatars, and they all have VR, I bet you'll still have issues with framerate on a beefy CPU. So you either switch off of anything humanoid (like a cardboard cutout like you guys memed months ago), or you switch into desktop, or you stop using motion controls to switch off IK.

I like it, but the screendoor effect and shit tier blurry-ass resolution really ruins the experience, especially in fast paced games like drive club. I really, really enjoy VR conceptually but these 2 issues take me out of it.

The Rift has less SDE, less FOV, bigger sweet spot compared to Vive. Both have the same resolution, Vive has a bigger FOV.

So I tried to set up my headset for the first time in months and discovered the two USB ports on the front of my PC are...broken, kind of?
I'm not sure what the issue is but none of the Rift equipment work with them, AND my keyboard won't work with them either, so it's not just a Rift issue. But my microphone and phone charger works on those two USB.

Anyone know what the issue could be? Without those front USB I simply don't have enough ports to use for my headset and will have to sell.

Thought about what you said. I tried to remove weight painting from the leg bone above the joint, but it didn't really help. But then I found out that I actually had a fairly sharp gradient in the HIP bone for that part of the leg.

Smoothing it out allowed me to get rid of the nasty shear. This has been racking my brain for months. Not yet perfect but much better, thanks for the ideas!

Oculus doesn't have an API that supports linux and the CV1 sadly, and even if it did, I doubt VRC and its shit code would run much better.

I think the linux openvr port supports vive though, since valve's proton WINE fork has beat saber and google earth VR as "supported". I'm also on cuckulus though so I can't check.

Simply not true. This used to be the case several years ago for Intel and AMD GPUs but in recently they've pretty much caught up with the Windows counterparts in terms of performance and api support (excluding DirectX for obvious reasons). Some intel GPUs even have more modern API support on the Linux driver and Mesa OpenGL can run circles around the proprietary AMD counterpart.

FreeSync doesn't work yet and some AMD cards have issues around HDMI audio over DisplayPort but other than that I'm not aware of missing major features.

A lot longer. 5-6 bullets instead of 1-2. Some guns always kill on headshots, others will ping their helmet off without killing on the first shot. Tends to be machine guns and pistols that won't kill outright on the first shot while shotguns and sniper rifles will provided you hit them in the right place. Guns do different damage to armoured and unarmoured targets though other than cost I'm pretty sure there is no downside to taking armour.
