Yes, surprisingly. They're all real people but it is still limited to look but don't touch. Going beyond friendship is nearly impossible without actually meeting them though actually meeting them is not impossible.
Lewd stuff only gets you in trouble in public worlds and if you get reported.
Private worlds are just invite only instances of worlds. You can make them yourself and drop a portal or just send someone an invite while you're there. They're not really any different to regular worlds other than that no one can stumble in. The people you let in can make drama but that's why you choose your partners carefully.

Stand Out can be played fully seated. There's very little downtime between matches. When you get killed you are immediately dumped to a DM lobby with the same map with a counter to the next match already in progress. Most matches end up mostly bots. Another downside is the 3 games by this company are pretty expensive and should really just be different modes in one game. I like Stand Out the most though.

Pavlov is like CS in VR. Especially in the sense that there is Steam Workshop stuff with maps. Im not sure if you can crouch with the controllers.

Vox Machinae is like a MechWarrior game. It's fun for a bit but right now there's only multiplayer and bots.

Surviv3 is a great game by the way, I'd 100% recommend on sale. I like it more than the new walking dead game.

Rules:
Open hand - You'll be able to see your opponents cards
Bonus rule - Sudden Death - If the game ends in a draw, a sudden death occurs in which a new game is started but the cards are distributed on the side of the colour they were on at the end of the game.
It will probably be using the deck builder rather than random cards so get practicing with making different decks!

Blender 2.8 fixes a lot of that and if you want "blender for artists" is a fork that makes a ton of sense.
If you want 3d that actually makes sense, cinema 4d and metasequoia are the kings of easy - you can even model in something like kanova or sculpt vr and rig in c4d or meta - much easier. Just harder to get a hold of because they use a paid subscription model now.
in addition, you can paint on models to retexture them in photoshop cc now, but again, it's subscription model so piracy is harder.

I wish microsoft knew how to market literally anything or vr in general. They've got a huge team of people who know what the fuck is up with vr stuff and they're letting zuckbook, google and htc basically shit all over the vr revolution and drive it further away from mainstream.
windows mixed reality is the most accessible and affordable vr platform with arguably better specs on most models and people barely know it exists. Sucks there's no full body tracking yet but I'm sure there will be something.

Meeting you guys has made my life a lot more fun, I used to drift through life not really caring about much or myself but now I have something to look forward to every day. you draw out the playspace using the headset by holding it and walking around, just like you do with a vive controller or the rift.

It actually provides better tracking than the vive or the rift since it uses a form of sensor fusion. There is a magnetometer and an imu gyro sensor in the headset alongside the realtime computer vision tracking which uses a form of realtime SLAM - basically it looks for things to recognize as unique in your environment - a poster, furniture, a chair, etc.
In the HEADSET - that means the tracking is near perfect. You can go right down to the ground and there's no sensors to occlude. That part works very very well as long as your playspace has posters and your lighting is fairly good.
The one weak spot of vision based tracking is tracking controllers. You get a orb that can do about 270deg before full 6dof tracking is lost.
however, the mixed reality controllers also contain an accelerometer and gyro, so if they're moving fast (and your batteries are full) they will track even if the fisheye cameras on the outside of the headset can't see them. (they have a wireframe pointcloud pattern on them and work kinda like rift.)
It's arguably the better system and will be what valve is using on it's headset combined with lighthouse - the benefits are huge. Any time you can add additional precision and remove things like usb cameras it's a win.

It's a bag of words array database stored in the mixed reality home setup in the registry. It can do multiple setups and they're stored on the pc. If you move furniture or posters around it'll get confused and you need to reconfigure but it's no big deal.

Most of the time you CAN do that though, if you move them up there, say behind your neck, they'll be there and "stick" in z space relative to the headset until you move them again, but they can always move in 3dof in place no problem.

The accuracy improves dramatically the closer you are to the bluetooth adapter (or the better the adaptor is - Any bt 4+ adapter with an antenna will be very good, for a micro adapter you probably want it on the front of your pc. You want literal line of sight

Also batteries. The windows mixed reality trackers go into a low power mode and disable a lot of features to save power once the batteries are low, which is really stupid imho. Tracking goes wonky on rechargeables when they reach about 1/3rd. Get good ones.
Final bit of advice: disable other sources of 2.4ghz or bluetooth. When the wmr headset has to fight for bandwidth tracking gets wonky.

The samsung odyssey+ actually fixed the bluetooth tracking issue by including an adapter in the hmd. The acer one for example needs an external one. I don't know why they didn't just include it.

All IMUs are terrible, it's a problem inherent to dead reckoning position from acceleration. You have to integrate twice, so you get quadratic error buildup. The emissive indirect lighting is tricky to do in a prefab though, because it depends on the map and the lighting settings in the project. Essentially, you have to have "precomputed realtime GI" enabled, have geometry marked lightmap static around the screen (like floor/walls) with high enough realtime chart size to be worth it, add the "VRC_CustomRendererBehaviour" component to the screen mesh itself and make sure it's ticked to "update GI materials every tick", and use the "Realtime Emissive Gamma" shader on it. And then bake lighting, with the screen itself enabled in the scene (tricky to remember if you want to toggle it off by default for performance).

One way to test if it'll work in game is in edit mode, edit the texture of the screen to just any colored texture you have lying around (by default it's black). If it lights the environment when you change it, then change it back to the default (render texture or none). If not, you fucked something up and might have to rebake.

Instead of tripods, you can use tension rods/shower curtain rods vertically against the floor and ceiling and clamp tripod mounts. would be more secure and take up less space. I doubt it's the vibrations from the motors moving your playspace that much though. Make sure to cover up reflective surfaces in your playspace, that could confuse tracking too.
