Okay cool, can we start this thread by not talking about you guys tard drama? As a newer person to /vrg/ it really discourages me from trying to play with any of you fags and I know I can't be the only one who feels this way and jumped ship.

Spectators are welcome but if we get too many people and the performance is severely effected we may need to ask spectators to use no IK avatars.

Rules:
Closed Hand - You won't be able to see your opponents cards
Sudden Death - For the knockout games only - If the game ends in a draw, a sudden death occurs in which a new game is started but the cards are distributed on the side of the colour they were on at the end of the game.
Deck Builder - Fully randomised decks are disabled. You have to pick your cards which will consist of 2 bronze cards, 1 silver card, 1 gold card and a choice of either gold, epic or a randomised legendary card. If you want to get some decks planned out you can use the link to the world below.

Tournament format:
Group Stage - There will be 4 groups to start with, each group will get their own board to play their games on. You will play a single game against each person in that group. A win will give you 2 points, a draw will give you 1 point and a less will give you none. 2 players with the most points in their group will proceed to the Knockout Stage.
Knockout Stage - All knockout games will be best of 3. The 8 qualifying players will play in the quarter finals, the 4 winners continuing to the semi finals. The 2 winners of the semi finals will move on to the finals and the 2 losers will then play against each other for third place before the finals.

I just did research and found it's possible. At first it seemed OK, but after tests with eyes open or closed, and patting my head and rubbing my stomach while standing on one leg, I found that closing my eyes introduced instability in muscular action, forcing me to compensate with conscious muscular activity to maintain balance. Essentially, my foot would have to "grip" the floor. Opening my eyes eliminated this issue.

I hypothesize that the "update rate" of human balancing by proprioception is insufficient to maintain perfect balance by itself, resulting in muscles overreacting when they fall behind. Combining visual information with it is sufficient to correct muscles before they move, allowing them to efficiently maintain balance. This visual updating process is clearly subconscious and I couldn't replicate it by visualizing the floor or a nearby object while closing my eyes.

You're going to want to look into any of the PSVR titles that got ported over to PC, those have funded "real" studios working on them and can usually be depended on having larger quantities of content than most VR stuff around. yeah, I guess you could. I have a dk2, acer wmr, and a vive as well, and because the dk2 registers you as having a full headset, that allows you full access to oculus home, and with revive the vive or wmr controllers can emulate the rift and touch.
There's some games that make revive kinda jank now and it doesn't get updated very often. Running oculus home leaves a service running that increases latency because it's constantly polling things using a network-like client server arrangement, which is how they do tracking. (and yes I know revive can inject standalone, but still).
I do put up with it sometimes but it can be a little annoying when I know the game doesn't need to be locked to the platform, and I don't want to have a library of games locked away on a platform I'll rarely use, especially expensive ones.

You're misunderstanding me, I agree with that. My point was that the quote I highlighted is too lenient. If people actually just go wild posting content ("enough room for all content"), and there is no quality control since everything is allowed, then lower quality posts will bury high quality posts. In the end that encourages less quality discussion. It also potentially enables displacement of the original community, once shifts occur in the population towards those who want to discuss other things. That drives out the people who wanted more of what people were originally posting.

However at some point /vrg/ will probably be no longer be necessary or valuable as a general, and we will literally have to rebrand ourselves into something else, if our community is still going strong by that time.

I want make an OC DONUT STEEL character for VRC, but I don't know anything about 3d modelling. I watched several videos of 3d modelling in Blender, but I feel like I'm still not ready to delve into the program. Anyone have any advice on getting started?

Time and time again, we have seen, whether it's on 4chan, Reddit, or some other site, that quality control/moderation/censorship, or whatever you want to call it, often does encourage higher quality discussion and content, even though it also has its own downsides and issues. 4chan is flawed because almost anything and everything is allowed. Reddit is flawed because the quality control relies on the current population's feelings at that time of day. Another similar example is how Steam is or was flawed because it's filled with shovelware and an imperfect review system, with little content curation. However, if each those platforms were any other way, there would also be problems. Ultimately they do serve different purposes but it's still good to try and find the right balance, whichever platform you're managing.

I downloaded a blank reference picture for the front and side to help with modelling but the video I watched made it look too easy, which leads me to believe I'll completely have my ass handed to me. You need ModelExportMMD_v3.dll which is the custom maid 3d 2 mod that exports as mmd format (which CATS can import into blender). You'll still have to do a bit of cleanup once the model gets into blender, fixing the fingers for example, but it's pretty good.

The clothes meshes exported on the model will always be perfectly fitted by the game no matter the proportions so it will save you time and challenge otherwise spent shrinkwrapping and repairing.

Depends on what the system in question is, but sure. Even 4chan's moderation is ultimately a subjective matter, and any automatic systems on any platform are still purposefully implemented to carry out the will of the site owner(s) or those in power. Eventually those in power may switch to those who you may not like. But that's just how it works anywhere and we can't do anything about that. Nor do we want to. What we want if we want inclusion are multiple different platforms and places within them that support different levels of moderation and population sizes, enough to satisfy everyone.
