Anyone know how VRChat handles saving login sessions? I'd like my accounts between Oculus and Steam to be different, but the installs share the same logins apparently. You both need to put your viewball pretty far inside your head to avoid clipping. Depends on the model, but I have mine at 0.02 Z. Clipping also depends on the map's camera settings, which by default set the front clipping plane at 0.1 or so, causing their face to melt away. Some maps crank it down to the minimum 0.01, which is a lot better for VRkissing.

I installed and... played it, it's pretty rough. All you get is a H mode. You choose girl and boy from your character cards, a room, and it sticks you into the H-scene mode from the flat game and the girl is standing there (you cannot be the girl pov, pretty gay I know). The flat UI is stuck to your hands and you use the other hand as a laser beam to select the position, clothes and accessories on/off, choose a place in the room. You can grab the anime buttes and tiddies with your hands and wiggle them around in the "foreplay" mode, but that's the only VR interaction you get. Otherwise the animations from the flat game just play out, and the boy head is shrunk to 0 like in VRC so you can try to align yourself there. The boy's arms and hands are still rendered, yet you also have your own disembodied hands. Your hmd viewpoint isn't fixed to the boy's viewpoint so you can clip out of it easily, or clip into the boy's body if he moves and you don't. You can awkwardly paw at the control pad with your free hand to speed up/slow down the action. Then the H bars gets full, and kyaa ikuuu etc etc etc.

Well, the graphics are good and you can find some cute cards on the internet for the girls, but compared to vrc lewding, it's not a great experience. The service positions are probably the best, since there's more animation in game than your partner could do with overrides, but it's still just too awkward to fumble around in the menu with one hand. Need voice controls.

Pulled the trigger on VR Dungeon knight and karnage chronicles. Didn't bother with the wizards because it looked dum. Some quick impressions

The splash screen says "keep in mind this is developed by a single person". It shows, there are a lot of rough edges, namely in the tutorial, which is just a bunch of dialogue instead of something more interactive, and skips some important stuff like how to holster items and weapons. I figured it out eventually though. Movement is either teleport for weaklings, or an interesting combination of stick movement plus armswinger, where stick controls direction but swinging your arms makes you go faster.

You go to a weapons hall, holster 4 things to your belt and back. there are swords/shields, bows, a pistol, musket, and some magic books and staffs (which are functionally guns), and some practice dummies. melee combat is flailing with some light velocity-based damage (or some sort of recharge mechanism when you hold a pose, i couldn't tell).

Then you set out to randomly generated dungeons smattered with enemies and boxes to smash. I didn't get very far because the enemies kill you pretty fast, and combat is janky so it's hard to tell how to block . Usual range of skellies, goblins, ghosts. Once you die you go back to base, but you keep gold and xp stuff. There's no inventory or shop, but there's stat levelup, some classes which give you various bonuses/debuffs. gold buys you weapon upgrades that permanently unlock then you can equip them for the next dungeon dive.

The weakest thing was the dungeon themselves. Samey looking hallways with doors, easy to get lost. I didn't get far enough to see any minibosses, but didn't feel that motivated to continue after getting jumped by skellies 3 times, unlocking some marginal +1 stat weapons. smashing boxes for loot takes 2 or 3 hits, a real drag. co-op might still be fun though, tends to be in simplistic dungeon crawlers like this (e.g. rec room).

same with a 2 handed sword you can even block arrows, granted if you were on top of a staircase you needed to couch as their weapons are now at a default position to hit towards your legs
there is technically a shop but it's only currency are tokens that are hard to find throughout the dungeon that and buying armor, enemies do kill you fast as a beginner but you keep your gold and level points for that same reason
there are 2 different mini bosses and a boss of the dungeon, one of the way to beat a dungeon is to kill the boss or destroy the core coupled with the final boss you can fight at any time
tomes are fucked, they fire at weird 45 degree angles and there is no making sense of them but they weren't always like that
dungeons are lacking, you will find yourself in the same rooms with the only thing different being enemies

A lot less early access feeling (though still EA). Polished warcraftish fantasypunk art style, good sound design, a proper tutorial, a full voice-acted quest giver (with some trite story hooks). You're locked into either a "warrior" build or an "archer" build. I tried warrior, which turns out to be sword and board, but also an autoloading crossbow for range. You turn a crank around to reload its 3 shot magazine, kinda cool. unlimited arrows. Also, headshots do more damage than body, and leg shots cripple. Melee attacks are half-damage if you don't swing very hard.

Has a more diablo-esque inventory and equipment, with "weapon sets" on both hands you can switch to easily. Inventory is pretty small though, ends up getting filled with shop clutter (silver plates, gold nuggets) and foods you can eat for HP (apples, etc). Also essential quest items like keys take up space, annoying. Armor seems entirely just an HP bonus, though there are some ring/necklace slots for +% stuff.

Dungeons are not randomly generated, and pretty well designed. Basic enemies like gobbos, annoying wasps that fly around and shoot acid at you, wolves, and some fucking spiders. Some basic "find key for door" runaround, no slide puzzle zelda shit though. Oh, random journal pages also take up inventory space, annoying.

Combat feels relatively good though. Waggly, but melee opponents will block, so you have to parry with the shield to whack them. Feedback is good, with floaty damage numbers, an HP bar. Shooting stuff with crossbow is nice, you get a stealth bonus too.

I spent a lot more time in this one, like 2 hours, barely got into the second dungeon. There are "town scrolls" which send you back to base/shop, so there's the item selling cycle. This one would probably be more fun in co-op, at least until you exhaust the campaign.

I still like what vr dungeon knight could become, but if you only get one game, the chronic is definitely better at the moment.

I meant hard to block in that that the attack animations the enemies go through were so janky that I couldn't really tell what was going on, both when to block and when I was actually doing damage. karnage chronicle's enemies made the lack of feedback even more apparent by comparison. And yeah, the magic tomes had some fucked up angles. I assumed that was a rift/vive controller thing, since >only one dev.

Have you played the co-op mode at all? I don't have high hopes considering the single-player polish, but co-op can still transform a marginal single game into a good time.

I brought up a level editor or workshop to address in my opinion the worst part of the game which is the lack of rooms, they said it was not something they planned for and possibly in the future which means no
the enemies go into slow motion right before attacking and the orcs at around half health go berserk making them difficult, ghosts will suicide when they hit you killing themself but bringing you to near death instantly, you can use magic tomes(lol) or staves that can actually shoot functional magic and is meant to deal with ghosts, that or an upgraded 2 handed sword with a strength build to one hit them
I like karnage chronicles more but once you beat the campaign it really is not replayable
I have not tried coop for VRDK but it is up to 3 players, it would be way too easy for me on the easy mode dungeon(blue) if you chose hard mode (red) that may be the root of your problem

Thinking about it, I think there's still something to be desired about waggle melee combat mechanics in VR. Velocity-based damage helps for sure, but it feels like it just encourages bigger waggling. I'm imagining something like enforcing some sort of "form", like a start and end pose for attacks that you have to do for full damage, to slow down the waggle and make it feel more graceful. Maybe an angle-based thing like beat saber. Damn, maybe I should make a shovelware gimmick VR game and stick it in early access.
