What up nerds. It's been a while, but I finally made another dumb physics toy in vrchat, based on last year's meme game. It's about as hard as the flat version.

It abuses the suspension script and a rigidbody with a chair on it to make a vrc_pickup exert a reaction force on yourself when you smash it into things. Same principle as my earlier climbey chair, but on the end of a pivot instead of grabbing the world. You can use the same trick to make rowboats/gondolas, that's my next intermediate goal.

This is all tangentially related to multicrew tanks in vrchat still, I haven't forgot. the fastest way to 3d model is to learn to use primitives like spheres and capsules and such to make models, or to use vr to make basic things.
really, the only tough part about 3d modelling is needing artistic talent and weight painting to make something actually useful.
some of the best 3d artists never do any weight painting, because that's for "animators".
if you can 3d model, AND weight paint, AND understand cloth physics, AND particles, AND even a tiny bit of unity animation and scripting you already have more skill than like 90% of the 3d people employed by companies like blizzard.
literally one person does art, one person does zbrush/etc, one person does physics, one person animates, one person does retopo, etc.
they're all good at only one thing.

Serious Sam was pretty fun, we progressed through the first game and figured out something interesting. The Pimax is apparently crash friendly in VR, and Serious Sam is one of those VR games that gives you motion sickness over time. I didn't think it was a real problem until I met the sixth anon in all the serious sessions, to drop out due to motion sickness. Considering the other games out there I would like to figure out what causes that. Going to continue hosting on /vrg/ though, love my hobbo vr homies.
