Flashes and smokes are at least obvious in how they work. I wouldn't have a problem with wallbanging through walls you can't see around if you could see the bullet trails or an exit point. That way you could figure out where they are from the trajectory in a snap.
Take contractors as another example: a lot of maps only have a few ways out of the spawn point and a big clear area in those paths reasonably close to the objective. If you've taken an objective and are extending your area of control past it to better secure it, you end up spawn camping. However if you don't then you're giving the enemy a clear entrance to the point or deliberately leave an angle open. The cheap and cancerous part of it is a necessity due to the map design, not the tactic. If there was more cover on those approaches or more avenues to go down, it wouldn't be a problem and no one would cry about spawncamping.

My 3gb 1060 works fine though the real bottleneck in my system is the processor so it chugs something fierce in vrchat. Onward and contractors all the particles from muzzle smoke and bullet impacts makes it hitch the first time someone starts shooting per round but not again afterwards. Shooting at the ground in spawn right at the start is enough to stop that from being an issue though. I am fully aware I am due for an upgrade though I'm waiting for the prices to drop a touch.
