To set the bind you need to:
With the game running, press the Vive menu button to bring up the Steam overlay.
Select the settings icon just above the bottom (This opens the settings for VR, the Chaperone, Camera, etc) and you'll see an input tab.
Selecting that input tab should show "Vive input for Into the Radius" and an "Edit" button.
If you go to the Edit, the mapping for the left and right controllers should appear.
On the right will be several tabs, you'll need to scroll down until you see for the Touchpad.
The missing binding needs to be set for "Position" in this tab, with "turninplace_unused_axis2" bind. It will be one of two available binds.

Ignore the intel shills, you WILL regret not going for the ryzen platform. I use a 1600X and get great performance, better than most intel shills. Mainly because I poured the money I saved on the CPU into a beefier GPU and so actually get more frames now. VR is a LOT of pixels.

Although I'd like better performance from my CPU, and guess what, Ryzen 3000 series is going to come out ON THE SAME SOCKET. I can just plug that shit in to my current build and have it work (with a bios update).

Fuck no. The way that guy's parser works is that he maintains his own database of user_id to username mappings, as well as wrld_id to world name mappings. Why? because the friends list API only returns IDs and if you want to show the world name and the name of the person who created that instance if they're not in your friends list, you need to look up the VRChat API for that information. Doing it at run time is extremely costly and will probably(maybe?) get you blocked, and because this is just a json parser, all the queries will go through the parser sites server, meaning every single person who uses it will be queueing up a shit ton of requests to vrchat on the server. What the guy did looks like he cached look ups either based on a queue that respects the supposed API limits of 1 call per 60 seconds, cache user_id's based on user submissions or a combination of both. His site looks like its been getting too much traffic and is hitting access limits on whatever he is hosting his database/webserver on or something, if you look at the network traffic error returns when you paste your friends api output.

Suffice to say I really don't want to go through the effort of all that, and I'd take a very long time to catch up with his existing cache of id mappings.

Trying to get those vmd animations working. I've managed to convert one of my pmx avatars to an fbx with the animation on, and extract the anim from it. I can see it working fine on the fbx I made but it won't work on any fbx that I've fixed with cat's tools, and if I use cat's fix model in blender after importing the vmd it breaks the animation. This is what the anim looks like on a model it doesn't work on, on the ones it does work on all the yellow text is black. Any idea how to fix?

Animations like that won't work on models with humanoid rigs. You need to use the animator rather than position/rotation. I never did find out how to convert from one to the other and just remade it all from scratch when I made an animation but it wasn't a fucking 5 minute dance.

Basically a lot of hoop jumping for that to work:

1. Get MMD importer, the old one (non-cats)
2. Import the model you like unedited with default bone names and all. It's important that it'd be untampered
3. When model is loaded, load in the VMD then press play to see the anim.
4. Export then auto-rig on unity.

Note that this is an old ass method when vrc removed mecanims and this was the only way back then. And if you want I could give out the anims I converted back in the day

It is alright solo, if you like horror mixed with survival its pretty good. Mustering up the courage to fight the bigger ones in caves to progress will suck your nuts back up into your body. Desktop mode on this was alright, VR solo you could survive just fine if not fight cannibals easier, IE explosives without worrying about others, no shot misses ect.
