You should lose weight in VR anyway. The first month I had trouble maintaining mine because I just wanted to use Blender and Unity all day before meet ups and everything else, including eating, became an annoyance. If you play Beat Saber you can burn 400 calories or more an hour. Avatar is less of a choice than you'd expect, as well. Every time I've tried tall avatars I've felt so uncomfortable I've had to switch.

It's all done on colliders, physics materials, and some value changes. I actually fucked it up and forgot to assign some of the colliders now that I look at it so the tips aren't assigned to damage groups properly. Basically you make colliders and line them up with the mesh. Then you assign those colliders to groups (example: everything but the points is in the "blunt" group) and define the penetration length (the edge of the blade) and the penetration depth (how far in you can get it). The tips have a penetration length of 0 but a non-0 depth so they can't slice but can stick into things. The blunt parts have a penetration length and depth of 0 so they don't sink into enemies. Pic related, the red line is the penetration depth. I could make it go right the way up to the handle if I wanted.
Basically shitloads of game objects that tell the game how long the object is, where your hands can go, when to make a woosh sound when it's moving, where the NPCs try to parry, etc etc. Then there's some json files with values of what damage and how fast it moves what forces it applies. It's all surprisingly simple but fucking hell this design philosophy isn't one I'm used to.

now when i think about it, ps move steamvr driver supports tracking unassigned bulbs (bulb alone, no controller). all that's left is to write something that takes position of one bulb, calculates yaw/pitch/roll based on positions of two points and merges it into one input device

maybe no one had ever done that because it's too much of a bother when pucks are around, but i'm still surprised that so far there was no nerd to at least try screwing around with bulbs. i imagine covering cameras with body could be an issue

I played a little more arizona sunshine last night but even after beating everything up until this point at hard without breaking much of a sweat, and even cucking out and switching to easy (not sure if that works from a saved game) I'm stuck at the point where you grab the lever from a fred in caves and have to endure an extended wave.
I'm not sure if I'm just not geared up enough or what, but I'm super stuck. They murder my face. It feels like you need a melee weapon but there's no melee weapon.
Does anyone who passed this and remembers how they did it have any advice? I just wanna beat the damn game before the sequel comes out.

I've been playing around with some server plugins and decorating the spawn region a bit, and I think it's ready for prime time.
