Hi vrg, I've set up a small vivecraft/minecraft server, vanilla 1.13.2 (the latest version vivecraft supports). I've been playing around with some server plugins and decorating the spawn region, and I think it's ready for prime time. It'll be up 24/7, but I'm trying to gauge interest for a "grand opening" of sorts. Just a coordinated time to get people in the server, since it's always more fun to explore in a group. VR adds the magic back for me. I stopped playing in 2013 or so, so there's also plenty of new vanilla content to explore, and of course it's still a really solid VR game in general for those who have never played it.

For the jaded autist, I did do some more testing with 1.12.2 modpacks, and they mostly work fine with vivecraft (FTB revelation here). You have to keep the desktop minecraft window focused or the added GUI won't work, and stuff like the minimap is weird on the hand, but at least for the last 30 minutes I've played, nothing else has glitched out. 30 minutes is like 0.1% of the content though, so who knows. I'll consider running some full autismpack server, but I'm happy with vanilla for now. Sure is nice not waiting 5 minutes for the client to load all the mods on boot

What my angle really is, is to soak up all the shitposting so that you guys get tired of this particular shitposting and people start poking their heads out again and the thread can be fertile ground for blender posting once again.

If you're starting out and not too confident in your ability to smush verts, try fitting accessories onto the model first.
Hats, capes, gloves, shoes, those sorts of things.
Basically avoid pieces of clothing that will go over big joints like the shoulders or hips, since that's where a lot of the weight painting hell can kick in.
Otherwise using the tools already mentioned like proportional editing, F Grab in sculpt mode, even shrinkwrap to a certain degree to get the new addition to where you want and then using the weight transfer to get a start on weight painting it.

I personally need to use F Grab more, as I'm pretty suck in my way of using proportional editing on everything, but a lot of it is simply trying and learning to find what works for you.

Search for something along the lines of "gopro clip with 1/4 adapter" and you'll find it. I highly recommend it.

You can through every default map type from substance painter into unity''s built in standard shader(just an example, not saying you should use standard), and there will be no need to even use a mask(height, metallics, and roughness are masks technically however) or extra materials. get an index if you have a PC. Index will be the best headset for a good long time with the best content and the best visuals.
Don't bother with a quest unless you have a need for a portable system. I have one in ADDITION to a pcvr setup but it's only because I'm far from home a lot.

Well sure I'm aware of the shitshow that is Season 2 and the way Tatsuki got shafted, but people still like the characters and designs. There just aren't more decent-looking MMDs for them. The official releases are all weird looking bobbleheads, which match the show perfectly but don't look right in VRChat.

Get an Index if you don't mind waiting three months, or get a different PCVR headset now if you don't want to wait. I don't see any point in buying a Quest if you have a good PC.
