Them not being interested in buying one may be one of them, but I guess that it applies to almost no one because the social and your intrinsic pressure to buy VR is so big when you've had the chance to try it or play with people who have it.
The more likely explanation why someone doesn't have VR is simply that he can't afford it. I remember two seperate cases in The Pug of where I asked some desktoppers why they don't have VR yet. One was some Southern American, the other a Malaysian or Indonesian, and they in detail laid out to me how getting a VR rig and VR would cost for them the absolute equivalent of $3000, which is even much to a first-worlder but to a third-worlder might as well be a little fortune. I also know of a case of a first-worlder from here who can't afford it because he doesn't have a job. You might then say, "just get a job!", but people easily omitt that the person is living a region with 60%+ youth unemployment, so even if he wanted, it wouldn't be easy to get one - let alone getting one that doesn't just allow you to scrape by but also allow you to buy VR. But those were just some illustrations, I'm sure it's not hard to come up with reasons why someone might not have money.

Luckily, since then the Quest and WMR have come along, so the barrier of entry has become lower yet, but who would want to have them when the entire time you've been surrounded by people with "real VR"? You'd save up for that instead and keep suffering the status quo.

Theres the kinect but it is pretty frowned upon and usually serves as the gateway drug to getting the trackers. Nolo also has a solution I believe but again its camera based so it isnt going to be the greatest for anything aside from cute body language. You can check out D4VR. You CAN slightly improve the tracking by wearing coloured LED lights in your body as if they were vive trackers but you need a darker room for it and again its not the greatest.

Generally true, but it still depends on how deep you wanna go. "Getting into VR" can mean anything from Google Cardboard to FBT dancing or some flight simulator autism machine. For most normal people a Rift S or Oculus Quest would be alright and the price is reasonable if you already own a VR rig, but only if. It just really depends what you want to get out of it.

The game isn't dying, it's regressing to the mean it deviated from after the boom it got from the Knuckles meme. This boom, one could argue, was due to streamers, but as you can see it mostly brought in people that don't really care and will quickly leave to the next fad. The base population, the enthusiasts that genuinely make good content, will be here either way.

Even attributing the Knuckles thing to streamers is presumptuous, however. Popular phenomena tend to happen for complex reasons, and the streamers even in that case were only one of the many gears in the process. Who came up with the knuckles design, model and roleplay, for example? I happen to know who it was, and though I'm not gonna name him, I'll tell you that he's not a streamer.

We were going to go up there together, but she bailed out when she realized how long she'd need to be away from her dog. I actually think it looks really nice. At first, I thought the player's reliance on that tableau interface looks a bit silly and cumbersome, then I remembered that I actually like that global unit interface mechanic (like in Battle Forge, Paraworld, Rise of Legends). I'm enjoying it thus far and I think it's a fantastic game that 's worth it's price. I think it's pretty well polished and I haven't come across any bugs or anything so far. Lots of fun little cosmetics to choose from for your units, mainly in the form of camouflage and helmets for your avatar.

I think the only drawback is there's only 2 factions so far so having things like UK or USSR/Japan would be great. As it stands you only have the US and Germans but theres 3 divisions for each side that each have their own playstyle.

Part of the problem with VRChat is the high technical barrier for entry than a lot of other shit. Blender & Unity are shitty tools, and when put in the hands of people who barely know what they are doing and are following shitty guides, the end result is going to be supreme garbage. Gotta start somewhere in cleaning it up, unfortunately. People will complain but they'll get over it, and we'll weed out shitters like Mr. 595 Material slots in the process.

It's just a shame that this isn't fixing the core issues of customization/avatar creation in VRChat, which would make people go away from the inefficient MMD import shit. I knew this foundation was flawed from the get go - no monetization, no copyright protection, and a high technical barrier.
