I'll post instruction on how to join the day of. What I'll probably do is make a world for us to join in titled /vrg/ or the like. I encourage you to make a folder that's easy to get to then throw in any and all assets you can think of to play with. Things like models, props, videos, music, even the images you use to shitpost with can all be imported into the world and used in multiplayer VR to build up some Katamari Damacy style monstrosity.

Wanted to add that they've added grabbable dynamic bones recently as you can see in the puddi video. There's a lot that could be done with them and I've barely scratched the surface. It's also supposedly quite a bit more efficient than the typical dyn bones implementation so if you have a model with a good number bring it as I'd like to test the limits of the system.
FBT is getting an upgrade as well to be easier to setup than what it is currently. Looks to use a scale model you can position to get the location of the trackers. I don't know if it'll be out by tomorrow though so if you want fullbody we may have to go through the longer method..

I've got the base stuff for a lewd world with NPCs set up. The NPC cycle through a set of animations via a button and also look at the player (which can be toggled I had to add an object 10cm behind the playertracker thing in order for the NPCs to not recoil when you get in real close). I wanna make it a nice, easy to use world with some options and features which make it worthwhile. What could I add/ what would be a good structure? I have an auto-hold object which collides with the NPC breasts.

So okay, after a loooot of work... My Poor Krimzon Guard is not gonna work for now in VRChat.

I think I will take a break but I learned quite a bit about rigging and how to get models to work that were not PMX files.

I think my next attempt will see results and hopefully I can share it with you guys.

Here were the things I struggled with the most:
-Basically I didn't join all the meshes together and make the model a single object off the bat, which lead to me making the entire rig before having a single object. This I think caused the model to have the "Failed to find a solution for one or more bones" Error which I battled for a while.

The above problem then lead to another. I automatically weighted the bones regardless of the lack of joining to see if I could just force it to work. it did! However this lead to a shitload of clipping errors that I barely fixed with Weight Painting.

Then in Unity it didn't read most of the bones because I did not name them correctly.

So I fell flat on my face pretty hard but not after making a pretty damn good show of it.

I think now however I am going to take a look at some proper MMD animu girls and see if I can port them in without any issue.

Someone mentioned earlier they had a list of what to name the limbs? I'd love to have it. Also I wanted to add fingers but I didn't see that option when I went to the configure menu in Unity, how are the fingers done for the full body tracking?

The tracking technology for controllers needs the plastic ring you see with a bunch of IR LED in it (rift, wmr) or photo diodes (lighthouse). It's probably technically infeasible to accurately track hand pose from sensors on a soft glove. You would have to know the user's hand size and position in order to get the same sub millimeter accuracy as a rigid plastic controller.

Gloveless tracking like leap motion will probably be coming soon (Vive had a demo of it working with the headset cameras) but it's not robust enough yet, and obviously has fov problems.

AC doesn't even have a pre-race menu/interface in VR, you have to start the race on flatscreen and then put your headset on. Before a certain amazing person got to improve the game massively with a shader mod thingy, AC had static mirrors, they looked like LCD screens, no depth perception, not moving along with your head at all. There are also some other annoying things in AC, like everything being scaled slightly too big so you feel like a mantlet until you get used to it, or GUI disappearing when you click to spectate someone (you have to go back to GUI by clicking on your name in the list, blind, because you can't see GUI).

PCars(2) has full VR support, starting from the moment you launch the game's executable. Everything's running fine, scale is fine, everything is fine. Feels like game was designed with VR in mind.

If it works in vrchat it should import into neos fine. If it does have issues with some bone names it'll tell you which ones you need to update. At that point once you've fixed whatever it was you can just import the blender file so you don't need to export to fbx again or anything.
I haven't had any issues with anything that came out of cats but I did name some bones funny on one model I made and it didn't like that but it wasn't a big deal to fix.

you get used to a lot of it.

to help with choppiness either enable your reprojection settings in steamvr, or disable them, depending on if you're sensitive to the artifacts and may see that as choppy.

for aliasing, you definitely want msaa at bare minimum. supersampling through steamvr will help on top of that.

screen door you get used to. some headsets are better at it than others. $200 lenovo explorer looks fucking awful even though it's 1440x1440 which is close to the index. odyssey+ is the same res as the index and has no screen door at all but becomes blurry between each pixel instead.

basically no headset manufacturer has gotten a perfect product out yet, and games haven't adapted to the new paradigm. john carmack talked about this on joe rogan just the other day, devs need to learn to optimize again, this time for vr

DCS is real weird on the performance front to be fair. Very RAM and CPU heavy. The problem with the Index is that it wasn't made for sim fags. It's made for le epic roomscale waggle which to be fair is the most immersive use of current VR tech since you have your hands in the virtual world and the perceptual feedback loop multiplies the immersion. That's why it's 120-144 Hz and it costs $1000 instead of being just 90 Hz but higher resolution and $600. If they had used the HP Reverb displays, we'd get a really, really good sim experience.

Unfortunately not, at best you can turn with a rudder instead of twisting your controller. It would be kind of hard to have both a HOTAS in front of you and being able to use the controllers realiably, any extra cups or shit eventually start feeling like a VRstock - more of a pain than actual help. So I am going to leave this here but I was trying to move a model from Blender to Unity after putting it through the usual nonsense with CATS. I go to put it in Blender and the model doesn't seem to loading it's textures.

I read and it said that the model needed unwrapped and the UV Textures assigned and so on. I did all that but then said model had a purple face and the textures weren't loading after I put it through CATS again.

Not at all. PSVR is all I have til I can afford my new rig, and I love what games I thought looked interesting for it, but the res is terrible and the screen door effect gets more noticable the longer I own it.

The Quest is new, higher res, uses a different type of screen with less screen door, and they are porting games and adding games for it constantly. I think it got Half-Life 1 just recently? It's getting constant new games, wheras PSVR has a lot of experiences, some games, with only a heavily blurred and downgraded Skyrim being it's main selling point.

If I wasn't upgrading my PC and getting a Rift S by Christmas I would likely have bought a Quest already. I'm still tempted to get one at some point in the future just because why the fuck not.

The good thing about the PSVR is it gave VR a boost in the public eye this last holiday season gone, and will work on the PS5. So don't get rid of it.
