Sorry but if you wanted to keep up with VR and VR news back in the day, you really only had a few places, and none of them were 4chan even though some of the bigger things made it here. I personally got my news from a combination of Reddit, the Oculus forums, MTBS3D, and various news sites out of which Road to VR was and still is the most decent one. The fact of the matter is that Reddit was one of the largest VR communities. Also that reddit post I'm referencing is just an easy summary of the things people were pissed about, not that it was only those redditors that were pissed in that one instance. I'm not about to try and find literally all the articles and posts around the web relating to all of those instances.

the ultimate VR solution is a keyboard project that i developed last semester in a VR course i took. we used a leap motion to track the hands/fingers and they literally just typed in the air like it was a normal keyboard.

to bad microsoft created their own for hololens like a month after we started developing it.

without haptic feedback you're kinda limited (to stuff like sound and visual feedback), and with only 1 leap motion there was some minor occlusion issues (you can use more than 1 sensor now), but it was about 20 wpm after you learned to use it (a few minutes worth of typing).

it overlayed any program when it detected your hands. was cool. we got an A and get asked to do research in the uni's VR lab every time the professor sees us, but we literally ignore them because our VR professor told us they don't even own an HMD and don't plan on buying one.

Yes, tested it with journey of the gods.
Definitely boosts comfy levels as the original strap is mostly a plastic sttrap on the back and with prolong use kinds of constricts back there and the quest is also front loaded meaning your cheeks get the brunt of the weight.

So having the deluxe strap's wider top head strap as well means you can have it rest on the top of your head more compared to the original.

Audio gets a boost too so that's great. More immersive and your neighbors won't hear what you are playing.

Does ASW work better on Nvidia cards, or something?
I ask because a lot of people seem to think that it looks fine, but I get massive and incredibly obnoxious warping on my R9 390, even after the ASW 2.0 update.

Possibly. We know that ASW is supposed to work better on RTX cards because they have a more advanced video encoder. So it's possible that if the ones on your R9 are not as advanced as those in some the of Nvidia ones, then it could have an impact. However it could also be due to a number of other software factors that are hard to pin down. And also ASW works better in some games than others for various reasons, so that might also explain some differences. As far as ASW 2.0 goes, that requires the game to have a real depth buffer submitted to the runtime. If it doesn't then it can only perform ASW 1.0 on the game.

Well it would have to be a specially made dog headset, skull shape notwithstanding their eyes just aren't in the same relative positions as ours.

Also a dog would probably just freak the fuck out in VR so wouldn't enjoy it even if they could understand what was going on.
