I remember I became pretty cool with these guys, and then this one guy kept finding different things about me to make fun of me about, and then blocked me at one point for no real apparent reason, other than I messed up his name or something. He unblocked me a few moments later. My fiance came into the room and said something to me, and they all heard her voice and of course all started to ask about her, followed up by the same douche bag who said "she sounds fat. I bet she's fat." (she's not). They said "put her on" so I put her on thinking they were joking and just wanting to see how she was, only for them all to say "you sound fat, I bet you're really fat" and all started laughing. It really upset my fiance because she went through a eating disorder when she was younger and has really poor self image issues. Maybe I should have used better judgement before putting her on, but she has such a cute voice that I figured they would all change their mind right away.
Shortly after I logged and didn't log back on for a while. Haven't talked to those guys since.
However, I've also met some really incredible and amazing people on VRC. I once met a video game designer and modeler who had some really impressive custom made avatars, and his friend he played with was also really nice. We talked for hours while he showed me his custom portfolio. I can clearly remember him loading in these literal bahemoth avatars and doing crazy animations to scare me. Such good memories. Sadly, I haven't talked to them since either.
It really depends on the people you start talking to, they can either be really toxic or really cool.
Maybe I'll dust off my rift and hop back into the crazy world of VRC again, soon. It's honestly one of my favorite games to play
