How well do the index controllers work with revive? I was messing around with it trying to play robo recall but couldn't stop dropping my guns because of the stupid vive dildo's grip buttons. Do the index controllers work better with oculus developed games? They certainly look closer to the touch controllers. I've been debating upgrading and if I can get better revive performance that might push me over the edge

Personally I prefer having some sort of feedback, buttons like Occulus Touch are much more intuitive, and playing Pavlov Quest made me remember how tight the controls used to feel with planting the bomb etc. Now I always pick up a grenade when I start to input numbers.

Your definitely right about the novelty aspect of it, I remember how when I first got my vive the only thing I really wanted to play was skyrim and serious Sam. There are just so many small things in non-VR games that you wouldn't even think about that end up killing the experience. Expecting you to move too much, moving your character against your inputs (that skyrim intro is beyond janky) , or expecting you to stand in place and read text or mess around in a menu constantly. I think the best compromise would be a game that is based on a popular non-VR game but built from the ground up to work well on headsets. Something like DOOM VFR, though apparently that game blows so I don't really know.

God Elite looks fun. It probably takes 40+ hours to learn the most basic controls and get everything set up comfortably, but it sure looks like a blast when everything finally falls into place. Finally got my Index in and also Charged back so I technically got an Index for free and holy shit these controllers fucking suck dick if you have big hands. Got some 3D printed grips coming that are supposed to fix that on Thursday and I hope to God they work.

Rolling Line, one of the better train-set simulators available for VR right now. I do reinforce though that it is a Train-Set Simulator, not a Train Simulator. The controls were also crafted in hell but workable once you get used to them.

Also available as an alternative is "Locomancer", which is another Train-Set Simulator but focuses more on the multiplayer aspects of it, getting together with some friends to lay some track. Both games do however allow you to assume direct control of a locomotive.

Last weeks gaming night Friday was a blast, we had a massive turnout again, we found the CtF map that was selected, funnily enough being a halo one, was the kind to have moving spawnpoints. with thirty three people in the game we had a constant warzone moving up and down the map. Things ended on the beach and they didn't end up pretty. https://streamable.com/hddel finishing up that we returned to regular pavlov hours and things calmed down after that. Rec room was a nice experience because we got to do royale mode without encountering a teleporting asshole. The game allows players to teleport so some have adjusted to stomping lobbies by just teleporting around the map after getting a sniper and cheesing the game.

I along with many other people want to help people out with their unity and blender problems. But a lot of them aren't as strong willed as some of us hence the process of posting avatar progress got booted into somewhere else. Rift-S is inside out tracking. It requires visible light to see the surrounding objects in your real world to create a reference for it's tracking system.

You can also use an IR-blaseter that works too. So it still is dark but the infrared bounces off the walls and objects and the camera can still see these far-red light that is not really in our visible light spectrum anymore.

Virt-A-Mate is probably both the best & the worst porn game. It's the best because the interaction is top notch and you can grab and pose limbs and even do stuff like rip off clothing, but it's also the worst because it is an atrociously awful 3DPD art style that goes for realism but just winds up being incredibly uncanny valley. There are some okay looking girls that autists on the virt-a-mate subreddit made, some that try to be either less uncanny valley or trying to make them more anime-like. I'd recommend at least giving it a try, for its mechanics if nothing else.

If you link the actual model you're usingz there may be a source model with everything in the right place relative that you can find. But I'd suspect as they're expecting you to be 3d printing, you'd print all the parts separately anyway and glue them together. Odyssey+ is cheap as hell most days at around $230 boigabucks, the next best things are the quest with link and the Rift S at $400. You can also get a used Vive/CV1 for around $350. Don't buy the index though if you only plan on playing 3 games with $1000 hardware. Protip: never play VRChat
