For two years every single request has been met with the devs saying "oh yes that's planned" to every single feature. Making promise after promise for what lavender is going to do. They have no plan to set of core features they're trying to implement. I doubt they have even a firm grasp of their core value proposition. They just keep making promises they can't keep rather then set realistic goals or offer some sort of roadmap for their development. And no the trello they have hardly counts when it just throws everything in as a planned feature.

Oh yeah speaking of the "server infrastructure". Your team went ahead and updated the unity version before it was fixed for Linux, leaving many server hosts without a way to host a server till the Linux version gets fixed, and the lavender team decides to fix it again. I'm personally well aware that you can run the windows server in linux, and would never run proprietary software outside of a hypervisor or lxc container however, this was a feature that previously existed, many people prefering the native build, and still hasn't been fixed. Leaving the server list rather baren on release don't you think? Why would you rush ahead to new unity versions when they're broken and need to be fixed to fully deploy the game? Sounds like improper management to me. (Not involved in lavender at all just skimmed the discord and discovered this issue in specific quite casually and was embematic of just a fragmented development structure of adding random features and not caring about the "core" as you claim)

The performance is better actually. It's just that it's trying to do more things under the hood than VRchat is so it seems worse, but it is doing those things more efficiently.

Scripting is one of the next priorities to implement once we iron out some of the bugs revealed with the public launch.

near the end of the game when you are about to enter the void. right after the time tower battle, you need to smash open a boarded up door. right before that there is a VR helmet that if you put on is different from all the others, see pic. It's purple and there's writing all over the walls. The puzzle grafiti is on there indicating there might be some sort of puzzle to be solved, with the words UP and DOWN but DOWN scratched out. I'm not sure what this means, but is there a possibly a hidden puzzle here that's hinting to the solution? I'm not sure what I'm suppose to do.

Gal Gun 1 and 2, surprisingly good, make good use of room-scale if you have it, It doesn't have snap turn and you have to turn based on directions, plus all the stuff they throw at you.
Really fun, lots of secrets and collectibles, and has a VN on top of it, but it comes in the form of snacks. Give the different girls snacks and see what happens, etc.

Just choose one of the front/rear sight images and aim using that. Doesn't really matter which one, both of them will point at the target as long as front and rear is aligned.

Good way to practice is bots in Pavlov, Grab a sniper and try to look in their direction with one eye, lining up the sight with the other.

its similiar but not quite. Iron sights depend on our depth perception and some other thing I dont know how to describe, but its makes easier to aim through those very small hole iron sights like sport rifles have. You cant do that in VR, aiming down sights is slightly harder in VR

Alright, so a few relatively surprising thoughts on this that I didn't expect after reading so much about it.
But first, I am an experienced VR user who has tried Vive, Rift CV1, PSVR, and Quest. So I know what I'm looking at.

The thing that surprised me the most was how much better the lenses were than the Quest, yes not just CV1, but also Quest. I had read a few, but not many comparisons online from people who owned both that the Rift S had less god rays and a larger sweet spot than Quest, and I can say that that is definitely, without a doubt, true. They're still there, but it's immediately noticeable that the Rift S just has so little god rays, while the Quest feels more like the CV1's lenses but a bit better. Rift S's lenses feel significantly better than CV1's, and maybe 30% better than Quest's. So Quest to me feels like a 20% improvement over the CV1, while Rift S is like a 50% improvement.

Resolution, too, felt like the same kind of improvement over the Quest. Quest still felt like it had SDE similar to CV1, but a bit better. Rift S is significantly better over CV1, to the point where it's mostly invisible for a much wider range of textures. The sharpness, with supersampling, was just so good, it felt like I actually had better depth perception. Quest didn't really feel like that kind of an improvement over CV1. Again, it was only just a bit better.

However, problems that I didn't see many others talk about, which perhaps might also just be with my unit, is that the head tracking seems to be overly predictive, resulting in a less stable horizon than all other headsets I've tried. And the other problem is that there is a subtle, ephemeral (like half a second) appearance of a horizontal scanline pattern at random times, similar to the Index issue.

That's it for surprises. My impressions otherwise are consistent with what most others usually talk about. Probably the best headset I've used so far despite the two additional issues I had.

Not too much of an issue. My right earphone on the CV1 went out so I had to use my own headphones anyway. I quickly got used to using my own headphones, which were a lot better sounding than the CV1's koss drivers. And using them with the Rift S actually works surprisingly well. They don't fit onto my ears. Instead, the halo keeps them away while the drivers are still directed to my ears, so I get effectively an off-ear solution.
