Instead of scanning through the entire thread for anything that looks like an event, it'd save me some hassle if people included something I can CTRL+F or use 4chanX' highlighting filter for, something like a bracketed word like "[event]", or "!event", or whatever. It doesn't track the devices but it is required for the devices to know where they are.

As the one above said, one is doable, but two is preferred. The 2.0 base stations that come with the Index can also support multiple, I believe up to 8, so you can have a much larger tracking range.

Any other controllers will also need new base stations to track them. Apparently index is a bit fucky with the build quality but I've only ever tried vive dongs and index controllers. For inside out headsets (wmr, rift S, quest) the cameras look out into the world, and your computer does the tracking. The cameras are pretty locked down (don't appear as regular webcams), but could be hacked.

The old rift cv1 "sensors" are regular greyscale webcams with a physical filter to limit them to IR light, and they track the IR LEDs on headset and controllers. their drivers don't make them appear as regular webcams, but potentially could be hacked.

For a theoretical virus that hacks VR headsets and streams images back to an attacker, I'd say the most likely is vive/index passthrough cameras. Those have relatively easy to use APIs to get images (for devs). Inside out and CV1 cameras are less likely, just because it'd involve a lot of driver hackery to get it to work at all.

I don't think there is much interest in TTT, partially due to the large number of mutes we have. I think TTT is very autistic.

I don't think it's fair to criticize the community for not trying new things, we tried very hard to make Contractors work despite its faults and we still have Onward lobbies now and again. We try new games, it's just that they aren't very good.
Likewise, the non-Counterstrike game modes in Pavlov are very weak. This really isn't a surprise since Pavlov's development arc has been very inspired by CS.
