Yes. Pavlov doesn't really need you to move much, even turning can be mostly avoided with snap turn. Playing with enough space to move does give you some advantages though; It can be easier to make small movement adjustments and lets you quickly move while taking damage which would otherwise slow your stick movement speed.

Can someone help me troubleshoot my headset?

I have an Odyssey+. It's worked perfectly for about a month. I went to put it on today and it wasn't working. The screens only turn on for a split second before going black, and the green light keeps blinking. I can see on my monitor that it's working and tracking, so it's not a USB issue. I haven't updated anything and I've tried rolling back or updating and neither fixes it.

Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong?

So my index controllers buttons have suddenly stopped working in vr chat and beat saber, they still track and i can move my hands/wands about but no button seems to do anything in game

Boneworks just fine though, any ideas why? They were working earlier without issue.

So I just played "Water Planet", and this might be the first time where I have to say that VR might not be such a good fit no matter how much we try to make it work at this stage. It's not the mechanics, but the graphics. You see those pretty screenshots and videos, but in VR, it's not as good. The game heavily relies on stuff like reflections, and the effects it has for that simply don't work very well in VR because it doesn't render things properly for both eyes. This is a game I could see being heavily aided by ray tracing. I liked the idea, but the kind of graphics in this are definitely something we should hold off on until ray tracing in VR is standard.

Oh no no, literally everything is made out of water, ice, or highly reflective stone material. The thing is, even if they didn't use screen space reflections and had a nice light and reflection probe setup, it still wouldn't have looked right, because everything is reflective AND there's a lot of dynamic elements in scenes. They could have cut out a lot of those elements and it indeed would have been a better experience, but probes still have limitations if almost every surface is reflective.

Class 4 ships are definitely way faster. If you're getting lapped hard, it might be because you're not strafing. That should help you turn faster without losing as much speed.

LCD screen means it has a higher subpixel density which means better clarity and lower SDE at a lower resolution.
Software IPD adjustment won't be a problem unless their IPDs are really far from the ideal for Rift S.
Rift S is the best option for most people looking to get into PC VR right now.

Index is the only real upgrade option. Reverb is just a resolution upgrade and nothing more. Cosmos is garbage all around. Rift S is a tracking upgrade, but it's a sidegrade in every other way. Pimax is uncomfortable unless the new headsets fixed that and last I heard the software is terrible.

VRChat has several instance settings, and the only ones that are free to join for a new player are public instances. These sometimes have experienced players in them you can friend to join their friends+ instances later, but just as often it's other new players who just haven't found a subgroup to hang out with yet. You need to have a big friends list in VRChat to have an in to where actual fun is happening, and also to build your user rank to the point where you can upload your own content. There are lots of small and large VRChat communities that hold regular events, many of which are linked from the main VRChat Discord or that you can find by Googling or asking around. The /vrg/ meetups can be fun, especially if you want an in for VR lewds, but it's not a very welcoming community, nor a particularly creative one.

I read about pre-orders for Looxid Link but when is the official release? I tried to find some pre-release reviews but I couldn't find anything, I wanted to see if it's good enough as a basic replacement for normal movement controls, I hope it's at least better than the Emotiv EPOC.

The trick is to split the meetup by dropping a new friends+ portal next to their one. 40 people in an instance is laggy hell anyway so that's usually a good time for it.

So how do I install pirated games on my quest? I had no troubles modding beat saber. I got the pirated apk and install it through sidequest, but no games appear under unknown sources. And when I try to install superhot for example, it only seems to re-install the demo version again.
