It's definitely worth trying. Pretty surreal being able to walk around a lumpy version of your room in vrchat and other people trying to recognize objects from the low-res textures. Somebody identified the gamecube controllers in my living room from just a tiny splotch of yellow and green.

As for uploading into vrchat, download the OBJ version (which imports into unity the easiest), then make sure to change the texture import settings to max resolution or 8192 (or 4096), and turn on crunch compression. Then just toss a basic plane on the floor of the scene for collision, turn off its mesh renderer (or, put a box collider on the floor), add the vrcworld prefab, upload. Can also change the default directional light to baked and bake lighting once for slightly better performance, but doesn't matter much.

I am asking you a question, what was the last VR game you played, or encouraged others to play outside of VRC.

So I finally played/watched through Project Lux, since it was on sale at cs rin ru. It's actually pretty good, like an hour or so of good voice acting and animation, compared to the 20 minutes of spicy wolf. The story is decent, very Isuna Hasekura-core if you've read the spicy wolf novels. The tweest at the end caught me off guard, but cool I guess.

The interface is very 2016 VR, with only eye-gaze interaction, and and annoying head-locked subtitles. But still worth watching, if you want to listen to a cute girl talk about post-AI humanity and shit, and hold your hand and hug you.

Just got a Samsung Odyssey+, first time with VR. Every review I've seen said the image quality is great, and on paper it's higher resolution than the Oculus Rift S, but the image quality is terrible. I can get past the screen door effect, but it seems extremely low-resolution, with anything in the distance flickering and heavily aliased. While the future is that you can run your own content servers too, this isn't forthcoming. There also needs to be funds for development costs itself. Coffee and lotion ain't free. There is a need for money to be spent to keep lavender going.
VRC gets this money from investor capital. They run no income, but continue to get money from HTC/facebook since it sells headsets. The 9900KS is still technically the fastest single-threaded CPU in a lot of applications. It's very overpriced and outside of single threaded applications it gets dunked on by a lot of Ryzens though. I'd recommend a Ryzen 5 3600X as the best reasonable option for pure single threaded performance.

as much as I'd like to talk about VR games that are not VRC, I know that it won't gain attraction in here because it's not anime oriented or it doesn't allow you to upload models or stare into a mirror,
