I've been using it since last summer. The first thing I did was get another qc 3.0 battery for quickly changing during long sessions. I put a fan on the wireless headpiece bc i almost got burnt from it. I did run into frame time issues. The wireless uses more cpu then wired and if the game used close to 100% cpu I'd get a pixeled screen. But thats with an i5 4590. With a newer cpu I'd expect there to be no issue. Latency is not an issue. I can feel when its wired or wireless but only if I look for it.

As for USB AA cables, you generally want to minimize movement between the adapter and the battery - one way would be to mount the battery like a countermeasure. I bought some of those heavy duty braided ones off of amazon and they seem to be doing much better than regular ones that were toast after about a month.
Also its taxing for CPU so expect some CPU heavy games to take a hit.

The update rate for what other people can see is a bit slower than what you can see of yourself. This is the whole reason why writing with pens as a mute is very slow. Next time you're with someone get them to draw a circle really quickly and see how it comes up as a hexagon. Same goes for body movements.

spent some time trying to do the combine voice filter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdsgFu5bMvQ has a bunch of the samples from the original game. Downloading the audio with youtube-dl and sticking it into audacity, spectrogram mode in mel scale, you can see that most of the energy is in the 300-2.5kHz range, with some harmonics extending to, about 6k, and a special key-up tone at the end.

For recreation, I pitch-shifted the input voice down an 8 semitones; which will vary based on your input vocal range. Real walkie talkies have a pretty limited audio frequency range, about 200Hz-3.125kHz. I used 2 4pole high/lowpass filters. Then to simulate the tiny speaker on the other end I added gain and hard-clip distortion, and finally just to try to match the audio spectrum of the original samples, another EQ, boosting 500Hz and 2000Hz. Then I grabbed the actual key-up tone from the original samples and spliced it in, which actually adds a lot to the effect. Implementation in bitwig, stepping through the filter stack:

Could use more tweaking, but I think it's the right fundamentals. The pitch shift, bandpass, hard-clip and second EQ should be straightforward in any other daw and will work in realtime. To do the key-up tone you'd probably want to use openvr advanced settings to bind a button to play the sound through some soundboard thing; I think voicemeter potato has one built-in, which you'll want to route the DAW into vrchat input anyway.

All of them work fine except the quest. Samsung O+ is best for price but most limited for controller tracking range. Rift S also limited with lower refresh rate and inside out tracking but pretty good otherwise. Rift CV1 is outright better than the Rift S but no longer being produced. Vive generally over priced and controllers are a bit weird to get used to though it can upgrade into index and full body natively. Cosmos, quest, vive pro are all memes and shit for various reasons. Index very expensive and always out of stock with some build quality issues that make shit break often. Don't know much about the pimax but I don't think anyone really bought it.

The appeal of quest is that it is standalone wireless. The screen is worse than every other headset so plugging it into your computer just makes it a worse pc vr headset. He mentioned vrchat specifically which blocks non-quest content (ie: 99.9% of it). It just isn't good. I know I look like a dumbass while playing vr so being able to take it out with me or just not doing it in my locked room is irrelevant.

If you can get one, yeah. I have a vive and it has served me pretty well for 2 years now. Only just starting to get soft on the track pad though I haven't banged it much. Replaced the cable a couple of months ago. Vive you can just plug in the dongles and turn on trackers and they work straight away, rift you have to get vive/index light houses and do some fuckery with a hybrid setup to get them to work but they still do. You can also do the hybrid stuff with a WMR headset like the O+ too. Rift S doesn't have IPD adjustment for the lenses so I can't recommend it if you don't have an IPD between 61.5 and 65.5mm. Vive I know can adjust pretty nicely with a gear on the side of the headset.

Reminder that the true chad VR setup is Quest (plus the various comfort, battery, audio mods) connected wirelessly to the PC through a good 5 GHz router using the ALVR or Virtual Desktop app.

So I've gone through 1.5 pairs of Index controllers now, and I'm pretty sure the thumbstrick drift issue is connected with how much you press in the thumbsticks. If you use gestures or jump a lot in Vrchat, you should think about binding those functions to the A buttons, especially if you're having problems with the thumbstick capacitive sensors being "sticky". That usually foreshadows or comes hand in hand with drifting in my experience.

It doesn't necessarily look the same in Unity and ingame. You need to do the additional pass to make sure that the import to VRChat didn't fuck anything obvious up.
You also can't test how the avatar looks under specific lighting conditions in Unity unless you are the author of the maps.

Well we tried to remove the discord from the OP and cut ties with it. Didn’t work since they have autistic worker ants that survey the Thread bump limit 24/7 and purposely bump it so the general doesn’t die. They also have an authority figure from 4chan working with them removing anything they don’t like. They spam the irc and the J.A comes running like a obedient dog to this place.
