I like the limited ammo. It slows down partial mag reloads unless you want to dump that mag onto the floor and serves as a nerf to saving multiple weapons of the same type. Some of the numbers could do with being tweaked but overall it's a good change.

That's what I mean by slowing it down, it's either an extra step during the reload or bit of precise movement that wasn't required before. The only thing I don't like about it is that I can't have magazines on my chest anymore unless I also have a full box of that ammo type.

I've got an Oculus CV1. I want to use VR more but the main barrier right now is that after about 10 minutes of having the headset press against my face I start to get an ache in my temples, don't know if it's just the foam pad or if it's also got something to do with how the headset straps on. Should try adjusting the strap and headset up or down on your face. If the pressure is on your temples, you should be able to loosen the side straps. It'll put more pressure on your sinuses since the headset weight pulls down, but luckily the CV1 headset is pretty light overall.

I played part of the first game in VR when I first got my headset, but motion sickness was rough since I still wasn't used to VR. It played okay, but I wouldn't buy VR just for that.
Supposedly anything that works in gzdoom will work with the VR port, but weapons will only show up if they've got a VR model made for them, which could be a problem for some wads.

Excuse the crappy stickman images, but I have a question regarding dynamic bone settings. I have a bracelet on my avatar's arm that has a gem that dangles on it (the red circle hanging on the wrist) and it has a dynamic bone to move around. The issue is when I lift my arm the gem continues to "stick out" forward, instead of naturally falling downward (ignoring gravity) and it looks weird.

What I want is for it to behave naturally like the bottom set of images. I tried messing with dynamic bone settings on it but not getting any good results. I know "force" applies some kind of gravity like effect and the actual "gravity" setting doesn't seem to do anything at least that I can tell?. Figured someone more experienced with this shit may know what settings I have to tweak

How do i bind a particle system to a weapon on my avatar so it moves with my weapon as I swing it around? right now I have the weapon with the inventory system so it's disabled by default till I toggle the emote, the weapon shows up but the particles are not on the weapon when I move it around, the particles just float in front of my avatar and only move when I move my avatar as if it was bound to my hip/spine or something. When you're headset height from the floor height of your playspace is higher than the avatar height PROPORTIONALLY to the default unity blue-man avatar. The unity blueman avatar is the basis of all vrchat proportions where it scales any avatars with the viewball being the center.

The IK is trying to keep your feet on the ground and the toes are the furthest point down from the hips. If you raise yourself above the avatar's height, it'll go on its tip toes to correct for it.
Also when you look down, it brings the body upwards because of the IK's math on where your body is relative to the headset which causes it to tip toe too. You cannot fix this without playspace moving down a little bit (and eternally squat) or by getting full body tracking.

I paid about a year ago and it wasn't worth it. It was a few scenes with no VR interactivity beyond headtracking. You even had to use the keyboard to change the animation. You can do it with any headset. You need lighthouses and tracking pucks. Vive, Index, and Pimax are natively lighthouse based headsets, so you just need to buy pucks. Kinect can't track your hip movement and does a poor, hacked-together job of tracking your legs for VRChat and only VRChat. Everyone I know who has bothered with a kinect because "it's less than $100" used it for less than 10 hours before buying $300 worth of pucks (and $2-300 worth of lighthouses if they didn't have a vive already) because the kinect was frustrating and only gave them a taste of what they wanted.

Quest is the most versatile headset right now and the focus of great many VR developers though. Anything developed for Quest can be ported to other platforms so developers would be limiting their customer base if they didn't.

Even then you can play all the PC titles too, either wirelessly or with wire in Link mode.

VRC fucked up world particles about a year or so and still hasn't fixed it, this is what you have to do to have say, a world flame particle stick to the end of a torch on your hand.

I've had a fairly significant reduction in performance on my Link'd Quest in the last week or so. I can't find any reason on my computer for this performance loss and the Quest itself seems fine and healthy but just standing in my Oculus home environment (the "real" one such as CV1 and rift have, not the Quest native home) has a bad framerate now. Interestingly though, it doesn't seem to get worse in games, it's just bad forever.

Anyone got any ideas?

Yeah if you're running it on an Oculus headset you basically have to run two runtimes at the same time. Valve apparently has source code access to Oculus' runtime so they could easily do what OpenComposite does but better, letting SteamVR apps talk directly to the Oculus runtime, but no. It doesn't help that SteamVR itself takes basically equivalent the CPU usage as the Oculus runtime despite Oculus needing to run additional tracking calculations that Valve offloads to a chip on the headset and controllers.
