Quick rundown on the rush drama?

I pretty much never drink, I think I maybe got drunk once in last two years, but my entire motivation to get drunk was "I need more space on my cupboard, I need to finish this bottle" and I just overestimated my alcohol tolerance while browsing and sipping.
I find the idea of social drinking bizzarre and embarassing, even more so in VR where alcohol just makes me think "it's all so fake, it's all so stupid".
Is this why I can't get along with /vrg/? I think I'm stuck in 2007 when I was 16 and realized for the first time life's only getting worse, not better.

What's the proper way to get pirated VR games working? Adding them as non-steam games and then checking the "Include in VR library" does add them to SteamVR, but then the game never loads when I launch it.

I have to launch the .exe from regular Steam instead, and I have this weird issue with Half Life: Alyx where my game launches on my monitor instead of the Oculus Rift S.

It's a Vrex pack, which is what I've been using for all the other games, but for some reason HL:A is refusing to launch on my headset and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Should I try reinstalling it?

Nope, you should be able to upload at New User, or blue status. I think you can do a bit more at User/Green.

You also need to install the VRChat SDK2 for avatars, 3 for worlds to an install of Unity 2018.4.20f1 for uploading stuff. The SDK makes you log in with your account. It's actually a bit confusing and the first place to go for information is unfortunately the discord which has a #workshop channel.

The SDK handles the uploads.

All the games announced at the upload showcase was a bunch of quest compatible mini games made with unity assets that looked like it was a Vrchat udon world.

'fixed' it. Cable was broken, there was none for sale (except for $150 ones), oculus refused to replace it, so i took a shot at soldering broken wires. Wires were hair thin, there was some signal interference that i'm not qualified enough to understand (that's the reason why cables are strapped to headband, certain cables next to each other were causing interference so i couldn't just tape it back into cable shape), but in the end it worked. Works absolutely reliably this way, the only downside is that i can no longer use cable extenders.

I enjoy mentioning it because people tend to assume that broken cv1 cable = headset replacement, while this stuff is absolutely fixable. I imagine qualified electronics professional would easily figure out how to braid it back into a proper non-interference braid.

I hoped alu foil will help a bit, so i tried separating wires with it, but they were still interfering in certain positions. My cable tinfoil hat sure helped with general noise, without it i had random colored dots flying around the screen (i basically replaced original shielding around cable with tinfoil + some extra foil between specific wires), but it didn't help when i tried turning it back into ordinary bendable cable. You seem to have a general idea of what happened there, so: do you think it would be possible to wire it back into cable by twisting some of those new cables into a braid?

how do people spend the time to make a beatmap? Even with beat sage you have to edit it and make it fun somehow..... Then again most levels are shit but there is fun maps out there. I'm assuming a lot of the good mappers just try to make competitive levels

I was always a fan of some of the ones that were hard but not complete tryhard. Stuff like Master of Puppets, People Allergy, or the intro to Night of Nights. Slow paced songs just don't do it for me I guess, especially when they're both slow and complex
