This is a general problem using SteamVR via Oculus, rather than just vrc. I've found that, generally, avoiding to use both the Oculus and SteamVR overlay will reduce the chances of getting super bad lag. That said, sometimes it just happens and the only way to solve it is to get out of VR and restart the Oculus runtime service.
The tearing (like a water effect) is both SteamVR and Oculus trying to do motion smoothing at the same time - Try turning off the SteamVR motion smoothing.

For me the performance has been absolutely perfect, I just wish there were more options in the driver for it.

To use it open the radeon settings thing, go to the gear, to go "General" and enable "SteamVR Integration". You'll need to sideload the APK here https://github.com/GPUOpen-LibrariesAndSDKs/Radeon-ReLive-VR and you're basically done. Run that APK and it should just werk.

You can buy more individually to extend the range of your playspace, up to 4 base stations I think, or if you want to upgrade from vive 1.0 base stations piecewise. Oculuschads get to pick their preferred mix of the two versions and control styles. Oculus version has precise tracking with little smoothing so it's very responsive at the cost of picking up every little shake of your hands. SteamVR version on a Rift has a lot of smoothing regardless of settings, this makes your hands/gun very steady at the cost of some responsiveness. Vstock is impacted less by shaky hands so that can be used to refine the choice depending on what feels best for them.

Score Saber has to have one of the least rewarding scoring systems of all time. IMO the algorithm's weighting towards high accuracy makes sense if you're actually trying to compete. Both the per-song curve and song rank curve values quality over quantity more heavily so you're not just outranked by somebody who has more time than you to play everything.

It's best just to ignore pp though and just get better percentages on your own. There are plenty of good beatmaps that aren't ranked for autistic reasons too.

Depends on what you're into. If you want to play the ranks, you have to dance to their autistic rules. I still just have fun in the multiplayer lobbies, and as a morning exercise. I think getting better is more about consistency honestly. There are songs I can play now that I thought I'd never physically be able to do like a year ago. Once you reach about 200pp/6 stars, I think you do consciously have to adopt a wrist-only form instead of arm movements to play songs, but it's still a gradual process of improvement.

I hadn't realized that one of the recent vrchat updates broke the mahjong world in a weird way. Udon's SendCustomNetworkEvent with NetworkEventTarget.All used to not run on locally on the sender, but it now calls the method synchronously within the same frame as the SendCustomNetworkEvent call. I had a call in the Start() method that called some methods on other UdonBehaviours, which weren't necessarily initialized (by their own Start() methods). This caused NPEs and general breakage. I fixed it now though, so the JUST riichi mahjong map is back up, give it a try

I can't speak for the visual glitches but Boneworks did make me INSANELY nauseous all through out the start.
I could only play it 30-45 minutes at a time, eventually I did over an hour, 2 hours, and after that I was pretty ok.
Few times I got cold sweats but now I can play it no problem without feeling anything.

Have a full rendered body with momentum and such takes a bit of getting used to.
You'll know you've got your real VR legs once you can play it without issue.
