Been a long while since I messed around with unity/vrchat so excuse the simple question. I have a model that comes with 4 textures; an albedo, a normal, a specular, and a roughness. I can see where the albedo/normal goes into the material slots...but I'm a bit confused with specular and roughness.

If I set the material shader to standard (roughness setup) then it lets me plug in the roughness texture, but it has no slot for specular, likewise the other way around if I use a specular setup. I honestly completely forgot what specular/roughness textures even do on the model? am I not supposed to use both at once or do I pick one or the other? if so which one should I be using

My Index will arrive soon. Can I assume that there is a contingent of users actively invested in VR who do not pretend to be anime girls because of their desperation for attention? Are all those who play VR chat attention seekers on the same level as discord trannies?

Are these "inventory systems" really something I should be using in order to equip items to my avatar on the fly? isn't it just making a new animation and toggling the item "on" with that animation then dragging it to my emote 1 slot, then doing the same shit for a toggle "off" and dragging it to emote slot 2?

Electronauts is worth $5. It's not a game, but a sort of electronic music soundboard thing.

Space junkies is also worth $5 but only if you have some friends to play it with. Has a bunch of fun weapons and zero-g movement, but hampered by dead development and shitty ubisoft client.

The Talos Principle is part of the Croteam VR bundle, but it's actually a pretty good puzzle game. might be worth getting by itself if you like puzzlers but don't care about serious sam.

Yes, the channels tab is next to the layers tab in gimp. You should be able to tell visually though. You can use gimp to combine the roughness as the alpha channel too, just search for guides for manipulating channels.

It's not very hard to import an MMD model, but it's not just clicking a button either.

Rift S is still superior for strictly PCVR because of the slightly better refresh rate, less screen door effect, and the additional sensor giving better tracking. That said, if you plan to use standalone or wireless PCVR Quest reasonably often, it's better.

We could easily make a better version of the powerglove today. I don't think anyone doubts that. What we doubt, and for good reason, is that we could make a cheap enough, say <$200 glove that 1. is comfortable and fits everyone, and 2. that tracks the fingers with sub-mm accuracy and unnoticeable latency. This is with bull body tracking and I basically just attached it like I did anything else, just dragged it onto the appropriate bone in the unity hierarchy. I tried the hip since it made the most sense location wise but it definitely doesn't move correctly along with my body, it's still like "detached" from my avatar's pelvic area and it sorta floats its own way when moving in FBT.
