Facebook doesn't need to set laws. All it needs to do is relay information/evidence to law enforcement. Obviously a law needs to be violated, but if you look hard enough an awful lot of things are technically illegal. Facebook doesn't even need to go to law enforcement. Yeah that's great and all, but now there's a bug affecting a gigantic amount of people who can't even be heard at all. Player audio is beyond fucked currently.

Have yet to hear of a single person who has reported higher frames. Heard of one person that reported they have worse frames. Only one person though so take that as you will. People are probably too busy complaining about all the other issues of this patch to report about the optimization changes though so this one i'm not entirely sure about yet

Apparently 3.0 avatars now break the entire instance and make it so no one else can join anymore if they sit in a chair while having certain animator parameters.

Aside from these issues I've heard a bunch of other ones reported. Some people's AFK animations are completely broken now. Some people's avatar 3.0 inventory systems to enable/disable meshes are completely broken now, only work locally. Also heard multiple people report that their dynamic bones are fucked up on some of their models. And also heard a singular report of someone having issues logging in ever since the new update, but was only one report that I saw so take that with a grain of salt.

All in all this patch is an extreme fucking disaster, basically broke like 9 different things while fixing/adding almost nothing. It seriously needs to be rolled back, especially considering a major holiday is this weekend and the game is so fucked right now.

Besides the reliance on the dash to move I can agree with this. It makes good use of having actual hands and forces you to do more than just flail around but I'm so tired of most vr games being designed for complete newcomers to vr to the point that the training wheels are either built in or the game is even designed around them.
It's fair enough that, because seemingly most people get motion sickness when they start playing vr, some games should accommodate for motion sickness but most people also get over it, sooner or later, and there just arent enough Boneworks like experiences designed for vr veterans.

Hyperdash is a great example for me, it could have been a super fast classic arena shooter but it's hamstrung by its movement imo. Sairento is perhaps a better example where the "teleports" are slower leaps that can be chained together, and the wallrunning is handled the same way. Some games that are optimized for 360 standing let you do this. There aren't too many games that are really room-scale only. You should be fine. Do make sure there are no/small arms on the chair so you can move your hands around. No games do the virtual chair concept you're describing though. Unless the chairs are tracked in meatspace, it's too much of an undefined design feature to be worth building around.

LA Noire the VR Case Files and Skyrim with the be seated mod both do that. The latter is quite fun when I want to hit up ye olde tavern. Sitting down will call over a bar wench who you can then order from. You can even tip back a tankard of ale and watch it drain. Mechanically it's kind of pointless but for immersion and roleplaying purposes I love it.

Fair enough, I haven't actually started any development I've just been thinking about ideas and getting opinions on my ideas, I thought the chair might be a neat feature, but it wouldn't really be tracked, you kind of just line it up with your chair IRL, because everyone has chairs.
I know where my chair is because I can tell where I am in relation to my VR chaperone to find it, since I always roll it over to the same spot while I'm playing VR, I thought being able to sit down in a virtual chair in your little shop booth might be a neat little feature to have.

I just had the idea of something like Recettear or Moonlighter but in VR would be neat, especially if you could customize the layout of your shop to make your storefront actually fit inside your real life play area for roomscale stuff.

Reminder if you're going to be a desktopper photographer to get 4k screenshots, please find a site that allows you to upload uncompressed images when they inevitably get over 4chan's 4MB limit. Slapping it into paint and making it a .jpg or using imgur will just result in artifacting and defeat the purpose of higher "quality" screenshots. I'd rather the regular 1080x1920 with anti aliasing and no safety settings than 4k of jpeg artifacts.

You need to add FBT to that for maximum benefit. Wireless really shines when you move about in your playspace and don't have to mind the cable. It's literally 2nd gen tech. You can get 80% there with Quest wireless though and Quest native games are the same level except for the graphics and no VRChat.

I had Vive Pro Wireless but ended up switching to Index+Quest. The only things I can't do with Quest wireless compared to Vive Pro Wireless are:

I use Index for high fidelity and low latency games and Quest for Questshit and free moving with wireless. VRChat is way more fun wireless than wired if you like to move around like dancing although needing to have your hands in front of you for tracking is annoying.

If you want something less clunky, then either pick XSOverlay or OVRToolkit. I have both and personally prefer XSOverlay, but their feature set is pretty much identical. When it comes to blender, any version of it will work but you might get help easier if you're using 2.83 or 2.79. 2.9 isn't in great shape. You'll want to get the CATS addon to start and it's pretty foolproof to start.

After this you'll want to get Unity and install 2018.4.20f1. This will be the one you use. You'll want to buy/pirate certain features like Dynamic bone (super easy to pirate) and get some shaders to start out with. Good ones to start with for most users is either Poiyomi or Silent's.

if they are a unity game and you can use pmx exporter, youre in luck, youll get a mostly functional model that is also rigged. you can import that into blender with cats plugin which does most of the work then export into unity. If you cant use pmx exporter maybe you can find an already rigged model online and then the process is the same.

Until You Fall is a lot more fun than I thought. I was worried that the simple roguelike mechanics would be lame, but the combat and the whole package overall is good. I like how there is actual weapon physics so you can't just slash as often as you want. Paired with the Infinty Blade style thing it ends up working pretty well.

Only as far as the first boss before I got splatted. I'm making myself standing and I wasn't ready to physically crouch for everything. So far I'm sticking with the axe+ritual dagger. Even on the hardest difficulty the enemies don't gang up on me enough to make stasis worthwhile so yet. I'm glad that there are options for one handed plays though which I will need to try.
