We did a mini-event back when quest 1 was released and VRchat made quest avatars available.

Though after a while, no one really uses it anymore and people sort of don't meet with questies anyways so there was almost no reason to use them. Sometimes I get to use them when a rare questie arrives though and when public hopping. So I guess it's sort of useful from time to time.

Vivecraft is a free mod for Java Minecraft. It works with any regular minecraft multiplayer servers. There's a very lightly populated vrg server linked in the OP with some videos of gameplay, has extras like climbing.

It should work fine with most mods. The mods that add extra gui or graphical stuff can get weird or broken sometimes, but I haven't honestly tried modding on 1.16 vivecraft yet. Vivecraft 1.12 has pretty poor performance but has a lot more mods that support that version.

The actual finger tracking is only really useful for cosmetic stuff, which more games implement than I expected. Doesn't really add anything outside of stuff like VRChat, and VRChat's implementation is a little buggy. It's nice when it works though.
I do think throwing feels a lot better with the Index grip, but not everyone seems to agree on that.

It's a nice cosmetic feature that helps immersion a lot more than you'd think, but the finger tracking itself is really only used for that gimmick. However, the controller format of strapping it to your hand and using a capsense panel for grip is absolutely the future and I expect to see more controllers use that format going forward. I can't overstate how good picking up and throwing things with just my hands feels compared to a grip button.

The strap on the controller makes throwing easier, but the fact that you're still holding a thick plastic dildo in your palm makes the tracking useless for anything gameplay related, like, say, playing a piano or doing sign language. If anyone who remembers a retard who bought both a Q2 and Rift S intending to return one, I finally got around to trying both. The Rift (for PCVR) is a direct upgrade except bad speakers (earphones so whatever) and 80hz as opposed to 90hz which I can live with

Referencing Pavlov specifically, I can actually see but also didn't realize the Q2's controls just don't work at all, it's so smooth and intuitive on the Rift S. For the record with the Q2 I did use sidequest

I dont have low ceilings, I can touch them with my finger tips and I'm 5'10. Standing around is fine with the pulley system but for lounging around it's a bit too much pressure for me. When I'm in vrc I disconnect my cable from the centre/last pillows and just leave the very first one attached, this is enough to keep it off the floor and allows me to lay and sit down on the floor/my bed.
I've also had far less problems with tangles with a ceiling set up as you can feel the twisting sooner.

My newly bought index just arrived today and it works fine(bit uncomfortable compared to cv1 though). But I have this issue that if I try to pair up trackers where the 2 controllers are already paired up there will be one tracker unpaired, or if I first try to pair up the 3 trackers then one controller won't pair up.

I put on my trackers, start oculus, start steam vr through oculus which loads calibrator, turn on my trackers and they are exactly where they should be 99.9% of the time. Occasionally the first tracker is out of place by an inch or two but then corrects it self once all 3 are tracking.

And yeah I was surprised with the devouring, it felt like a decent single player horror game with decent level design and interesting set pieces but in vr and coop, VR made the experience a million times better. I find crazy that if I remember a part of the game I remember being there unlike a normal game, like, I close my eyes and think about the dolls room and I can picture them as if I saw them IRL.

We also started the noir map, shows promise but after like 5-6 hours already in vr to beat the devouring we decided to stop for the day. Also I'll check out the pastebin. More people need to experience shit like this on vr and AAA games like alyx and they'll too be convinced this shit is not a silly gimmick, I'm having trouble going back to normal games after playing non stop VR these past weeks, and I'm in only using a rift S can't imagine with the extra HZ and FOV of the index.

I know there's that, the Vive, the playstation one, whatever oculus has now, and some new one people seem to be excited for, but it sounds like everyone just defaults to the Index and says everything else kinda sucks. I've had my index for over a year and a half and the only drawbacks are the controllers need to be charged instead of battery swaps and hardware failing from time to time. Thankfully Valve will straight up just send you what ever you need replacing, im on my 3rd pair of controllers and second cable all by just sending a support ticket. I dont know much about WMR headsets outside of them being a cheaper, but worth it, option for those that are new to VR as a whole.

You can have fun even with a cheapo $130 refurbished Lenovo Explorer. PSVR is at the point where it really should be avoided though. The Index is the best overall option though, as it the best lighthouse headset with the best controllers and can track anywhere unlike the inside out tracking that WMR and Oculus does.
