Use the Unity 5 default setup/export settings.
Add emission and alpha channels as needed.
Set the view mode to solo so you're only ever seeing the unlit textures or find a good unlit/toon Substance Painter shader and set it as your shader.
You won't be able to view alpha, normal or emission details in solo view mode but you can just change between view modes as necessary.

Just got a headset the other day and I'm trying to set up a way to mute myself in Discord using the Oculus controllers while using the link cable. Any ideas? My Googling hasn't turned up much of use.

VR dev here. I'm trying to conceptualize how to make a good arm-swing movement system, but it's just not turning out right. When you walk IRL, your back leg is pushing off of the ground still when your other foot hits the ground, resulting in a smooth motion forward. However, when you're swinging your arms, as with a VR game, your arms have an arc that has a distinct stop to it. This means that there's no "pushing off" resulting in movement that's very stop-and-start.
How do I make it so I can walk, or run with my arms and have the movement be smooth? I'm banging my head against a wall here. Any suggestions?

No, no. This is good shit. My main hiccup here has been differentiating between walking and running. First I tried making it based on your arm speed downward. That was very stop-and-start. Then I tried getting the frequency of the thrusts. That also didn't feel too good and I had some coding roadblocks there. Finally, I tried making it based on the distance between your arms when swinging, but that didn't feel good either.

By splitting walking and running between analog stick and arm-swing + analog stick, I don't have to worry about subtle gestures muddying the waters.

I’m a fag who just upgraded from a PSVR to a Rift CV1, and this tracking is fucking with me something bad in Beat Saber. I’ve checked the coverage of the sensors using Desk Scene, and all looks good in my 1.5x2m play space.

I can quite easily full combo Expert levels on my PSVR, but with the Rift, in most songs at some stage, I’ll be 90% confident I hit a block in my peripheral, and have my saber seemingly go straight through, counting it as a miss.

I still didn't test out the drill changes, but from what I can tell it's not the intended effect the devs wanted. They did the fuel changes because you could hold your thrusters vertically and the small recharge would keep you in the air indefinitely and you could railgun snipe unhindered most the time, now you can drill the ground to infintely refill fuel while using the module that dumps fuel into fast weapon cooling and not have to worry about overheating. tl;dr they changed it from a floaty snipeyboy to a more obnoxious faster firing land sniper

I need some help in trying to figure out what is causing my VR's performance loss. I believe it has something to do with using the VR controls to control other windows when inside a game.

For example if I use SteamVR to change the controls while in No Man's Sky, the game doesn't pause and is playing in the background. This causes the game to lose more and more frames the more I do this in.

I also noticed if I use XO to control YouTube videos with the media player, every time I hit "play" the game's FPS dropped like 20%. Do it enough times and my FPS will become unplayable and I need to restart the game.

This sucks because I love using my VR headset for other stuff too like browsing and watching YouTube videos while I play long games like NMS where shit takes hours sometimes.
