Ultrawings is an underrated light sim that's quite comfy; essentially pilot wings VR. Star wars squadrons has pew pew star wars space physics. Redout is playable in VR if you like fzero style racing. For actual cars, Assetto Corsa has a arcadey "assist" mode you can turn on, and it has the most modded maps available which can be comfy in practice mode.

Onward is the ARMA-type milsim, but it's old as shit and was heavily downgraded recently to be compatible with the standalone Quest.
Contractor$ is the newest one, plays like call of duty. Has a nice coop mode, probably the best graphics of the 3, but doesn't get much attention because most people will just go for Pavlov instead.
Pavlov is counter strike and has all the counter strike maps. Most of the playerbase is children and most of the servers are playing trouble in terrorist town.

You're going to have to pay 20 bucks and even then, you'll probably want the wire instead.

Virtual desktop is cool but you're going to have to deal with latency from compressing the video, sending it over wifi to your headset, then having it decompress the video. The wire still does this but it's much more consistent and lower latency than the virtual desktop nonsense.

Oh and of course this will come at a performance cost so I hope your hardware is up to spec

It's not a price point problem though. Sure the quest 2 is cheap, but this is an incredibly hacky work around that would be avoided by just releasing a comparable headset with a HDMI and usb input.The reason the quest is cheap is because it's being sold at a loss. Facebook wants their own walled garden like a console with it's own exclusives and whatever while every other headset works more like a display / input device on an open standard that anyone can develop for.

The old oculus headsets could easily have been upgraded to quest resolution and sold at a loss as well alongside the quest 2, but then they wouldn't have their closed ecosystem. It's really shady stuff and a big loss for the consumer, but they're giving them away for cheap so nobody gets angry. Anyone else get a lot of confidence from VR? It's like my subconscious mind really thinks I'm some kind of hero.
