Eh, the genres are too different. If anything, cyberpunk is closer to film noir than westerns. The original Blade Runner was basically a film noir detective story set in a grimy and grungy "future" Los Angeles (it actually took place over a year ago in November of 2019).

Westerns better fit post-apocalyptic Mad Max-type settings or settings that take place on newly settled space colonies where the rule of law is flimsy at best and people live in sparsely populated settlements where the largest buildings are only two or three stories tall.

Cyberpunk is mainly Earth-bound and distinctly urban in it's setting with breathtaking cityscapes featuring massive skyscrapers and maybe a megastructure or two and the ever-present authority of the megacorporations or their government cronies weighing down on it's citizens with the heroes living on the edges of society dealing with both cops and criminals alike.

So Tundra's "super dongle" that will come out with their tracks will support 5 or so devices(7?) which will also support steam vr devices like pucks,wands, and knuckles. So imagine having your pucks and knuckles on a single dongle(non-index). Imagine all the free usb slots. Might be a bandwidth issue but if I recall pucks at least aren't that bad. For index users or any other HMD with a usb you could just not use any extra slots. That'd be pretty solid.

I took a look at it myself, you should be able to just import the .fbx that comes in the download with Unity provided you go through the steps detailed in the comments.
The one big issue is that the animation obscures where the t-pose model would actually be. The right shows the model with the vrchat idle animation playing, which lets me eyeball where the viewball should be. From your posts where you took the model into VRC, it appeared your viewball was aligned with where the head was during the animation, and not where it would be standing upright.

These stats don't really mean much unless you're playing the same grinder on the same gamemode every time and I'm assuming you're playing different grinders because those stats are wildly inconsistent otherwise. Some are simply better at securing kills because they're heavy hitting or flexible enough to dive in but there's still some chance to how the match plays out. Your own comfort and skill with each playstyle comes into it too. It's not random but it is hard to predict.

If you really want killing blows the best way to get them is to get into the action quickly and try to make the most of each of your shots. Unless you're at long range, hold them until you can hit the torso or any spots missing armor plates. If you've got the speed or the enemy is open, get behind them and focus all of your fire on their rear weak spot. If an enemy is turning it might be better to wait rather than dump all of your damage into an armored limb.

Something I realized after a bunch of bot matches is that it's (almost) impossible to kill an enemy from full health by holding down the triggers; you'll overheat first, no matter what your loadout is. So you need to plan out your attacks less like a shooter and more like dota or other mobas. Start with harrasment/positioning, look for out of position mechs, then finally commit to a big team fight and retreat/chase when you have the heat/fuel to actually pick people off.

I felt the same way for a while, where the initial fun of "i'm in big mech go smash awooga" gives way to "wtf I just lasered them for 30 seconds and then they just shot 2 missiles at me and I exploded instantly" and everything felt so arbitrary. The missile arcs past a certain range are particularly to blame too, where they do literally have a random spread.

But after a while longer you start seeing the bigger picture and get good enough to do things like jump over a charging goldrush and sink a full 16x missile volley onto the top of it, or turn your mech to the side a bit to tank damage in an arm instead the body, and you start treating engagements as won/lost by your team instead of just whoever got the last hit, and it's fun again.

Not saying the game is perfect. Some things like hopper's claw arm instagib and super accurate 3x missiles are stupid. But especially the fat mechs and slow weapons like hammers get more fun with more skill and teamplay, instead of just 1v1 hopper/goldrush harassment.

Is the VR cover 6mm foam replacement actually worth the 30 bucks or do the amazon ones for half the price feel the same? I got a 10mm already and I love the extra FoV, but wouldn't complain about a tiny bit extra. Not sure if it's worth the 30 bucks though.

You can kill from 0 heat if you hit the right spots but it's not always easy. Rook can wreck a Catalyst if you turn sideways so the guns converge properly and aim at his head or the torso XL slot. Goldrush can circle strafe a Catalyst while hitting it's torso with double rocket and large cannon, just enough heat for the kill if you don't miss. Goldrush with that combo can easily kill the other grinders if all of your shots go into the rear cooling fans and their plate. Lmao 2 railgun to oneshot a drill. Goldrushes missing a charge can be destroyed easily if you fire all of your shots into the top plate, just get above them. Catalyst can even kill a dredge from the front if he's a retard and lets you use hammer as a shotgun.

for anyone that does the whole infinite walking thing with OVR space turning...do you know how to set it so Turn Signal (that program that shows how many turns you've done in one direction) only actually moves when you turn your head and NOT when you turn your space with your controller? the problem I'm having is turn signal turns when I move my head correctly but then when I turn my playspace using OVR and my controller bind it also effects turn signal, turning it back the other way, so I basically never have an accurate count of how my cable twisting is doing. I tried to adapt to just remembering to turn around every few right turns with nothing telling me to do it, but I have crap memory and keep forgetting randomly and it's twisting up my cable, turn signal is extremely helpful to remind me how tangled my cable is and when to turn around, but space turning fucks it up.

I got my first VR headset recently and tried out no man's sky with it. My god, there's nothing more comfy for me than just being able to fly into space, the ambient music playing in the background, where I can just lay on my bed and pretend that I'm in space. I just felt calmed by it, the feeling of being able to escape from all the struggles that we face, not having to worry about someone intruding in on my life. In that moment, I could just exist, at peace with everything. I've doubted VR before, but now I understand it. I'm able to just let go of everything in my spaceship, lightyears away from any problems or society, and just look into the stars, and rest.
