2.0 and udon worlds are vastly different. Almost all udon worlds use Udon#, which lets you actually do programming for worlds.
afaik, 2.0 worlds work by using "triggers" which are predefined events that occur when something happens. to get any complex functinality out of this you need to abuse animators.
These are two completely different methodologies to world creation. There are some plugins that let you use triggers/ trigger like behaviour to Udon but its a plugin rather than a built in feature so people don't know about it, and I don't know how good it is for porting

This tutorial on the basics of 3.0 from when it released are still mostly applicable. Watch the entire tutorial series first to get a rough idea of how 3.0 works then look up any specific questions you have. Worst case ask here: as long as you're willing to learn people here are willing to help.

For your specific questions: Any animations you want on the avatar (hand gestures are the main one if you're non-index) you need to have set up already. If you want to set up a toggle, you need an animation for when the toggle is enabled.
You will need to make VRC menus and parameter lists, and animators (FX for expressions, Gesture for hand gestures).

Then you are importing an SDK2 avatar directly. Don't do this. You need to import the model .fbx and set up the avatar descriptor on it, as in the video. This is very similar to SDK2 but the descriptor is different.

We'll be doing the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course that was run earlier this week.

That really doesn't sound like a VRCSDK issue, but you'd have to show me a screenshot of what you mean when you say your right arm isn't appearing. My speculation is that parts of the avatar weren't imported and are therefore missing, this is especially likely if it was a unity kitbash. My best advice for you, should you try again, is to backup your unity project and then delete the SDK2 files, pic related, and import the SDK3 from the website and try following the tutorials starting from there.

I don't know what to say about the panel but with regard to the jitter, you don't have any sources of IR light in the room you're using it in do you?

My computer has a Tobii eye tracker on the screen and it is CONSTANTLY blasting the room with IR light that fucks up my quest's tracking, further away it just makes things jittery and less accurate, up close it is putting out so much IR light that the Quest can't see anymore.

Worth noting that lots of things can give off IR light, bug zappers, remote docks for older hardware often used IR. Look around.

Followup to >>336068309 (Cross-thread) , here's a voicemeeter potato setup for routing real instruments and your regular headset microphone through a DAW and back into vrchat mic input. The crux is again making sense of potato's bizarre signal flow, this time with the "Composite" "mix mode".

For the 3 WDM virtual inputs voicemeeter provides, it additionally provides an ASIO "virtual device" corresponding to each, which a DAW (in this case bitwig but could use reaper or whatever) can then use. Normally when you send a hardware input in voicemeeter to a virtual output (B1, B2, B3), voicemeeter will mix the two devices together. However, if you use the "composite" mix mode", then voicemeeter will instead keep the tracks on separate ASIO channels, which you can bind in the DAW separately. The ASIO outputs are implicitly bound to the voicemeeter "virtual input" section, which you can then send to both the hardware output (index headphones) for monitoring, _and_ a different voicemeeter virtual output, i.e. a microphone that vrchat can bind to.

So in pic related, I have my index mic and piano as hardware inputs into voicemeeter. Those are routed to B2 aka "Voicemeeter AUX ASIO" in composite mode, whicha re picked up by bitwig as "Stereo In" and "Mono In 2". I have a dumb sidechain ducking so my loud piano action isn't picked up by the index mic, but obviously you can do more here. The mic and piano are mixed to a single Studio output by bitwig, which corresponds to the "Voicemeeter AUX" virtual input. Which is then routed to my index headphones (for monitoring) and to B1 aka VoiceMeeter Output in windows, which goes to vrchat.

At the same time, vrchat and other windows audio goes to VoiceMeeter Input aka Voicemeeter VAIO, which is routed by voicemeeter to the index headphones.

You might ask "is there an easier way?", and unfortunately I think this is close to optimal. At some point in 2018, I had a similar setup working with asio4all, sar.audio, and bitwig. However, sar.audio is prone to hard-locking all of windows, and asio4all chokes on however valve index's audio works. Maybe nvidia is involved too since it's hdmi audio. But in any case, voicemeeter has a monopoly on robust virtual audio cable solutions in windows it seems. No robust open source equivalents.

Jack audio on linux is far better than ASIO on windows, so maybe if I ran vrchat through proton instead, I could also route audio sanely. I've yet to achieve that autism however.

vrchat is chatting game so knowing how to keep up a conversation and the basics of good conversations of back and forth are excellent to have, i can drop into any world and if it has more than 10 people i can find at least one good conversation there, it's about picking people to chat with who are not too busy, not in a tight group already and that are talking about something you know you can give your input on
here's a basic recipe for public discussion finding
1. roam around the map hovering near a group to listen in on what they are saying
2. if topic sounds like something you know listen a little more and wait until there is room to interject your 2 cents
3. give the others turns to speak too, listen more than you speak is a good rule of thumb no one wants to talk to a guy who just keeps going forever unless it's about some niche topic they are really into and they feel comfortable talking over you

on meetups the etiquette is a little different since you are all already "vrg" so it's like being on a same group so it's lot less formal, for meetups i would recommend

3. hover around groups that are talking until a topic you can join in on emerges

From the top of my head the downside could potentially be the rentries and pastebins can become redundant.
But the rentry and pastebin can only be changed by the anon uploader as well.
There should be no inherent difference and made sure that there is a big link to the current and archived threads as well. Both should in theory survive. One being an easily changeable and fluid pastebin, rentry that anyone can place on the main OP while the other is archival.

If the concern is the power to change the OP. The yellow pages one does not replace the OP, and actually actively redirects to it aggressively. Not to mention the person who controls the OP are those by chance are awake and willing to bake a new bread, not any outside sources.
As for tutorials and the likes, the pastebins and rentry are the same. They're uploaded by some other person whom we cannot control how they'll place what's inside there. From the goodness of their heart. I too have some stuff submitted there but updating it and navigating it is quite a bit harder according to some.

As a compromise, all future tutorials and resources I get can also be turned to a rentry potentially. Just makes me remember the OP wars of 2019 and how annoying it was to have to go through that if a bad actor acts up. So kind of want to make an archive just in case.
A lot of the pastebin/rentry are due for some update anyways. Will get on that soon as well.

What are your thoughts on curated thread meme archives? That is something a rentry/pastebin and even a 4chan archive can do without generating massive pain in the butt.

Yellow-pages as a thought came up as a way to entice people to transfer over from the maincord as the phonebook becomes more useful (even without posting).
There is a critical mass of anons necessary to transform the current "main"cord into just another inner circle. Making the phonebook the main one. With these rules to guide it by to maintain it being an organ of the thread rather than a parasitic organism.
