Re-posting
/vrg/ - Sports Festival
Map making going well.
Implementing all UDON systems as well as broadcasting test will be on July 26.

Still looking for an EU host(principal) and two EU(camera man). This is quite important and will communicate with more EU soon who may want to do this. But very important to have these for this to work out. NA already has all staff members filled, host, referees, announcers and cameraman.
The OBS broadcasting needs EU

On the mean time, looking towards the thread's generous anons on what the reward should be for the winners.
There will be 4 categories of reward
1st - gold
2nd - silver
3rd - copper
and last - participation

If anyone would be willing to create the trophies and medals or rewards to give our valiant athletes. Surely the anons who participated will enjoy the heartwarming dick trophy which the creative pool of /vrg/ will surely make.

Timing has been decided. The usual timing we hold our events
/vrg/ SoSports Festival - EU - 9PM GMT+1 July 10
/vrg/ SoSports Festival - NA - 10:30PM EST July 10

As the date comes closer, the tanabata bonfire part of the event is revealed.
Just like how 3 years ago anons of the thread contributed their wishes so that Altier and Vega may grant anon's wish.

The sportsmanship dance part of the sports festival will have the tree and all of anon's wishes dangling on the tree and the map.
As part of the scavenger hunt and the chill bonfire hang-out at the end of the event.

>>340783886

>>340778043
>>340784487
See pic related for an example of an anon's wish from tanabata 3 years ago. Feel free to edit this.

I wonder if anon's wish got granted already? Do they still want the same wish they had three(3) years ago? Or did their wish change now? As for the new friends, what would your wish be? Place it in the paper wish and as anonymously as you can.
It's part of the fun figuring out who made what wish.

>>340784753
Pic related is the atlas used for the tanabata tree of 3 years ago. So many wholesome wishes.
I wonder what anon's wishes are these days

>>340783886
please disregard all of the drinking replies, unless you want to become an alcoholic.

>>340785372
i hope this is just a meme

>>340785769
Which ones? I think it's very hopeful in general.
Wishes can be negatively viewed as depressing but in truth, wishes are but goals that a person can strive for. As it is something they dearly want/wish for.

Things are starting to get pretty rough up here.

The index.

>>340803710
Tundra trackers are out soon if FBT is your thing. Other than that nothing interesting other than rumours of Quest 3 or the patents from Valve for wireless Index/Index 2

This thing popped up in steam in hardware:

https://steamdb.info/sub/595598/info/

And WiGig Driver for SteamVR was updated recently.

Summer sale starts tomorrow.

Index wireless adapter? Index 2? Steam Pal?

Not all sluts become popular.

>>340856551
I'm P, I like feet too.

Fucking hell are we EVER going to get a decent solution for VR Typing? It's so fucking slow and uncomfortable talking with people while I'm in VR because the on-screen keyboard (even with XS Overlay) is so damn slow tapping one key at a time via pointing at keys with the controllers.

I either have to take 50 years to tap a sentence or keep my regular keyboard nearby and fumble around like a retard trying to look for it with my headset on each time I want to type a message. You would think at the very least the Index controllers with their finger accurate sensors could have somehow have some kind of VR keyboard that you can just type in thin air where the keys would be and it would appropriately type the letters depending on your finger movements

They're nowhere near accurate enough to map 1 to 1 to keyboard typing directly.

Thinking about it though you could in theory make a swipe-typing-like predictive system from "typing" by tapping your fingers on the index controllers, not directly typing, but miming it and having the software predict what you meant. Smearing your thumbs around on the bottom of a touch screen has about the same amount signal I'd think. It would be an interesting project at least.

good picks, I'll help you out with the ones you should reconsider:
>saints and sinners
probably the third best single player under alyx and boneworks, and is probably worth it, but the discount is a little low so if the total is too much for you it's fine to drop
>transpose
rather short, might be good if you are new to VR and want to make the most of the novelty before it just becomes a peripheral to you
>star shelter + to the top
not must haves, and several games do what To The Top does better though they're less visually refined
>subnautica
not a VR game.
>talos principle
part of the CROTEAM VR bundle, you should pick up the whole thing for a deep discount.
>assetto corsa
there's regular lobbies for this here, so if you're into simracing it's worth picking up to go driving with the mates
>forest
slightly better VR than subnautica but still not worth picking up

>>340869319
You can upload them with whatever.
Very Poor starts at 20k.
You have to be good (<10k) to set it as your fallback.

>>340869171
Saints & Sinners and Boneworks are fun and definitely worth getting. I feel like they're kinda short for how much they're asking though.
Pavlov is definitely worth picking up, it's somehow still the best option for a multiplayer VRFPS.
Subnautica was kinda janky in VR last time I tried, supposedly it's a little better now, but the VR mode is still kinda tacked on.
Sprint Vector is fun, but the multiplayer is pretty dead. There are occasional lobbies here though.
Assetto Corsa is great if you're into racing sims. VR support is kinda janky, but I still think it's the best sim for VR right now. It's a little hard to recommend without knowing why you're on the fence about it though.

>>340870449
>to set it as your fallback.
What do you mean as your "fallback"?

>>340870567
if you are a PC user, you can upload an avatar that will automatically be shown to quest users no matter what avatar you are using, but only if it's very optimized.
if you are a Quest native user you don't have to worry about this, but might want to upload a PC version of the avatar so that people who are not children can see you

>>340870327

>>340870509
>>340870328
I'm on the fence since I heard it requires you to play with keyboard or controller and not VR controllers. I don't think I'd enjoy it as much having to use those rather than the VR controllers. Also I'm not huge into racing sims. This is what I'm thinking about doing now but I'm still unsure on Assetto

>>340870984
So from what I've gathered I can have two "versions" of my one avatar uploaded at any given time. A quest version and a regular PC version.

Right now I'm in a new unity project with my regular PC avatar but I have it set to build target: android and the SDK is having me upload it as a quest avatar. If I use the same blueprint ID as my PC avatar then quest users will see this version of my avatar and PC users see the same thing they always seen right?

right now my quest version is "very poor" due too to many polys and materials, if I upload this with the same blueprint ID then what happens? quest users still can't see it? so who can see it?

>>340871361
Quest users are shown a "performance blocked" robot, and they can manually choose to show your avatar by clicking on you.
You might want to just decimate the shit out of your model and import it as a new .fbx so that they can see you by default, even if it's a less pretty version

>>340869572
moub? is that THE /vrg/ prom king, Moub?

>>340871183
Also how's phasmophobia VR?

>>340871183
https://github.com/mdovgialo/steam-vr-wheel emulates a wheel with VR motion, which is a little better than like an xbox controller, but not as good as an actual FFB wheel and pedals and shifters.

Assetto can be fun in VR even if you didn't like flat driving sims that much, especially in multiplayer. That being said it goes on sale for the same price every few months so you won't miss much. Might be better to play through the other games first.

>>340871658
>and they can manually choose to show your avatar by clicking on you.
Honestly that's perfectly fine. My quest version is extremely gimped looking without poiyomi glitter and no dynamic bones, and it's not just the polys. Pretty much every setting is over the hill like meshes, bones, and materials. My normal avatar is Medium rated so this is some fuck. As long as questies can manually enable my avatar and see it that's good enough. Just kinda sucks that I run into quest users (that aren't little shit kids) every now and then that are genuinely cool but they see my avatar as "just some default anime girl"

If I show up as the robot they can just manually toggle it on. I was more worried that it wouldn't upload my avatar as a cross platform avatar at all. Last thing I need is this quest avatar fucking up my PC version

>>340871183
You can use this to emulate a wheel with controllers, but it's kinda janky.
https://github.com/mdovgialo/steam-vr-wheel
If you're not really into racing sims though, I'd probably just pass on Assetto.

When in unity, go to the package manager and ebale preview packages. Then download Build Report Inspector.

It'll break down the pieces of your avatar into parts you can read through and figure out what's so big. It might be something really stupid like an arbitrarily uncrunched texture.

>>340882098

>>340883260
>took leadership position without actually doing any of the responsibility it entails
Get all the benefits without any of the things a leader should be responsible for.
Events and event makers are one thing, being a discord admin leaderfag is another. They're not the same thing. Don't conflate the two sets of people together.

>>340883892
Not him but when I tried it I quit early on from the shitty controls alone, I barely got to try the game much because that put me off from the get-go.

>>340884368
That was pretty much my point, that they didn't do anything different than anyone else who hosted stuff. On the other hand, nobody should have a position of power over everyone else in this community anyway, besides just the necessary things. Ideally the admin is just another mod but one that we trust enough not to hit the nuke button

>>340884497
I can't blame you if you went with the default controls, steam community had fixed controls and you could tweak them to your liking.

The fact that not a single new "/vrg/" discord was linked here yet they had hundreds of people in them within an hour speaks for itself. The people who use the Discord are not /vrg/ and they should stop pretending to be part of this place.

>>340884368
>"took leadership position"
got elevated by simps because they didn't want power
>"didn't do what leader should"
they anchored and hosted events, anything extra is just you rubbing your crotch as you fantasize about power tripping
them being a discord admin effected nothing negatively which is exactly why they were so good at it
/vrg/ doesn't need a leaderfag all it needs is mommy y to sit on the throne and look pretty so there isn't a "power vacuum" by scheming pyramid fags

You have to buy the shifter separately either way, it's just that the TH8A shifter for Thrustmaster wheels is pretty expensive. G29/G920 with the Logitech shifter is the cheapest entry level setup you can get with a shifter. You could easily add it later though, just make sure your T300 that comes with three pedals instead of just two. I think they're still selling both versions.

>>340911778
yeah the 3 pedals is the gt version. As someone said before it goes to sales and such which is like now but if I'm too late I might need to wait later un september

So I'm trying to learn how to do toggle objects with all this avatar 3.0 stuff. Not sure where I messed up that is causing this and since idk much about this shit in general I have no idea where the error could even be at

Turning off the udon game object when not near it would be good.
I've tested this with a pool in my map.
They don't add to the load as long as the whole gameobject is turned offed. You can pace in a decoy object without the UDON in it for toggling purposes.

A simple onEnter and onExit trigger is what I use in an area near the udon system.

Each time, it was after people sat me down one on one made me feel really good and special.

I feel really shit right now to be honest bit I'll just deal with it.

Dunno what I did wrong to deserve such treatment but it keeps happening.

>>340784753
is there a way to send these to you directly? I want mine to be a surprise for someone

I guess have fun bullshitting to yourself and others with the people you chose, I doubt it'll be fun or happy in the end but you chose.

>>340922506
>i demand that my friends always report on exactly where they are at any moment, and allow me to join them whether i ask or not.
>i don't even voice this demand
>when people don't read my mind and follow my unbelievably entitled and controlling order, i unilaterally cut them off
>now they don't like me wtf

when are we gonna get a better class of bait in these threads?

I'll never understand what I did wrong by wanting to hang out with people who talked as if they wanted to hang out with me.

>>340784753
thx

>>340922738
Stop putting words into my mouthm I'll now fix your gaslighting, psychopath

>I demand that the friend I just met actually not be on orange 14/7
>I don't join the discord OR voice channel
>when people don't read my mind i dont care, and for some reason they follow orders of some random vr tranny they believe has clout, so i just dont deal with their drama

when are we gonna get a better class of pyschopath than this retard right here who's brain is too tiny to even read posts

Like, take a step back, compare word for word your post versus mine, 99.99999999999% of the words don't even match up, yet I said it?

Nope, you said it because you're a tard

>>340922527
Yes. Send it here [email protected]
This way even I don't know who you are

What kind of topology is this?

People who gaslight are literally never worth your time, you can sit down and ask people around you what you said versus what they said.

Never let yourself be alone with someone you've seen gaslight EVER they will do it to you alone

>>340922993
thank you! i'll make and send it sometime this weekend

>>340922969
Winning

You knew what you were doing to make me cry, you wanted to make me cry, you were trying to isolate me emotionally so you could swoop in and ERP me like all the other vultures

You never wanted to be my friend, if you wanted to be my friend you'd never of said that to me in the first place. It's clear what you thought and think of me and how you talk of me to others.

Are you enjoying my suffering?
Why?
Why enjoy my suffering at all? It's not pleasant, and it killed your karma.

ITS REAL MELTY HOURS I SEE

>>340923650
You haven't even begun to see a melty, I'm constantly in this state of meltdown now

People always choose group over individual
unspoken

Not virtual reality related, smelly.

Suffering is all I see. When I drink or smoke myself retarded, I see less. I see less suffering. Exitence becomes less painful.

Why does everyone pretend to not see it?
Do they really not see it?
I can't be some special human who see's this magical suffering, that's dumb.
Why do you all pretend and ignore?
Nothing but a bunch of glorified bullies emulating what their high school bullies did now.

Your past self is a ashamed of what you are

I'm ashamed of you, too. Deeply ashamed.

Just as an update to this in case someone gets stumped in the future. Literally the simplest fucking thing ever. So everything was set up correctly, my dumbass just forgot to set the animations to loop. Meaning they only played once, thus the object vanished after being "played" once. Set them to loop and now the toggles are perfect.
In my defense I am a big moron and the videos never reminded to set the anims to loop, but they also probably assumed the viewer wasn't a moron and knew that. Woopsie!

god bless the king of fullhaus
