I had read and placed them around my room with the expectation they tracked 120 degrees. I am incredibly disappointed and convinced whoever said that is smoking drywall thinking it's crack.

This should work well, however keep in mind that the base stations emit "light". So every mirror, window or reflective surface have the potential to fuck up the tracking.
Mirrors seem to be the worst offenders, windows can be hit and miss, semi-reflective floor (like polished wood) seems like you can simply ignore, unless it is tiles. In that case get a carpet and you are golden..

The cloth component performs a physics simulation on mesh renderers it's attached to that acts like cloth. Unlike dynamic bones, which perform the calculations on bones in your armature, cloth performs calculations on the individual vertices of the mesh which gives a different effect. This sounds expensive but iirc it uses the GPU to do these calculations on vertices, unlike dynbones which uses your CPU.
In practice it's super fucky to set up and look good. Also I haven't seen anyone use it without being very poor by perf ranking.
