I think that it's comfy. Ths physics feel much like real fly fishing. I still haven't tried boating or ice fishing yet though. Apparently you can set up multiple lines while trolling which sounds like fun. If you don't care about MP pirate it to try it out.

Try it yourself. I just don't see any VRChat maps that have the feel and features of Ultimate Fishing Simulator. There is boating, you can use floaters, spinners, flies, sinkers, and even use an augur along with a shorter rod for ice fishing. Things like drag and line weight all factor in, and you can choose from a bunch of different components to make up your rod to affect it alongside manually setting the drag on your reel. The fish variety is really good too thanks to the artistic license of having maps in several different continents. As a guy who would nornally fly fish with friends right now if they weren't diabetic and terrified of COVID im surprised at how familiar the game is.. Is there a VRChat map that has all of that?

The VRChat maps are just a rod that spawns fish on the end every now and then, there's nothing to them.

It's a shame Ultimate Fishing Sim doesn't really have proper multiplayer. There's a game called Real VR Fishing that looks like it's got proper multiplayer but it's only on Oculus Store for now. It has a Steam page but no release date so I'm keeping an eye on it, it still looks kinda half assed with photo spheres for the environments but I guess beggars can't be choosers.

VRChat has become boring.
I don't feel like logging on and hanging out for longer than 15 minutes anymore. The only minor excitement I get recently is from lewds. I'd get to know more people but I'm pretty sure by now I've found all the groups in which I fit.

as someone who owned a laptop when i got an index, no, you CANNOT use the valve index with a laptop. full stop.

the only way you can is with an external GPU

this is because the index requires a DIRECT displayport connection to the GPU. laptops do not expose any GPU ports, it all goes through the motherboard first. even if you got an adapter, it wouldn't work.

Upgrade your monitor if you need to, your gpu will render more pixels and therefore "work harder", but it was designed for that and it'll be non significant compared to playing games. You already are using VR, so you already render shit at resolutions way higher than 1440p
Also, in my opinion screen has value/usage for longer than a gpu, when upgrading your gpu you throw away the old one, when upgrading screen you can use the old one as a secondary screen

I've been dabbling in some VTuber tech recently and I've got a first attempt using 'PerfectSync' - which means that it uses 52 blendshapes for all kinds of facial movements. I think the result is really neat, even if there's some scuff (the smile is a little creepy).

What's the appropriate attitude to have in regards to the hundreds of splinter discords that exist? I'm not in any besides the well known ones and whenever I hear about someone who owns one, someone that I care more about and feel I have a connection with, it kinda brings me back down to reality. How are you pulling the handle? A rigidbody with VRC_Pickup becomes kinematic when you grab it i.e. no longer is constrained by joints. I'm totally about to shill for the devs, but game has only been in development for a couple years, they've been releasing substantial new updates weekly.

It was originally made as a local multiplayer only game, they remade it from scratch to get online multiplayer working. Online works right now, but it doesn't have full feature parity yet.

The local multiplayer mode has crazy stuff, like custom maps (already a few hundred customs out there, from totally original maps to stuff like Bob-omb battlefield), powerups, grappling hook, etc. They just this week released a "dark mode" which is pretty cool too.

Also, there's talks of making the flat-screen version free for multiplayer on release (kind of like a "friend pass") so that should really help out with playercount and the game's survival

I'd guess the game will be released within the next year or two although it's already a lot of fun in it's current state

Better than Beat Saber because you have to actually touch the notes which can be more than 2 meters apart if you increase the playspace scale so wrist flicking isn't an option. There's two modes: rhythm where score is based on the accuracy of your hits and force where it's based on velocity. I play the later because the first is the tryhard competitive mode so you have to use a tiny playspace to have any chance of scoring well. Force mode is better for exercise. The mod scene isn't as developed as Beat Saber, so custom songs just use the vanilla leaderboards and there's no ranking. Finding songs of an appropriate difficulty isn't as simple because 'Master' ranges from kinda hard to borderline impossible. They don't break with updates, at least.

Some of my closest friends aren't in my Discord server. It's not because we're not friends, it's because they're not interested. If you want to be in a server, you usually just need to ask about it. People tend to assume others have a full slate of servers, and shilling your Discord in VRChat is a bit rude, so this stuff can go under the radar for a long time. Had to hop off early, but steel crew is still very fun - rough around the edges still, but the basics are there. I don't know if i'd BUY it any time soon, but it's a fun play. I'd still be going if I didn't have a headache.

there are lots of flat video games about tanks but in all of those you're a gunner or a driver or both but in that you can also be a commander and stick head out of cupola and look around and give directions and use a telescope for spotting and use a map to give directions since driver and gunner don't have a map, very fun and unique experience.

I will say, the choice to have both teams be allied tanks with similar paint schemes is a bit of a headscratcher, though I guess it gives the commander more reason to use the telescope to make sure.
