This time we will definitely find out who is the most racerest racer!

Time to drive mean machines: GT2. We are going to Zandvoort.
This time during practice we'll train our racing lines, situational awareness and dealing with pressure from behind and in front, so try to not split up from the group during practice.

After that we are continuing to ride hidden gems of Europe, this time we are going to explore Slovenian countryside.

Assetto - can be played with wheel, controller, or steam-vr-wheel addon, it doesn't matter, we will all have fun driving together. If you just bought Asseto - grab Assetto Corsa Content Manager - a better launcher: https://assettocorsa.club/content-manager.html and a mod installer (just drag and drop zip files from mega).

For communication we'll use mumble at voice.vrg.party port 64738.

Looking for a new headset.
I pretty much decided on the Vive Pro 2, but I'm reading problems of people having with clarity. Is there a fix for this? Is it overblown?
I want good tracking which is why I decided on this over the G2.

Running a V8 Supercars race in Assetto Corsa tomorrow night at 8PM EDT.
We'll be driving Bathurst with the V8SCorsa mod cars, everything you need is in the first Mega link.

That's a VR problem in general. Blocking or slowing the hands from matching their real life position has problems, Pavlov's recoil creates the effect where you can end up pointing your controllers at the ceiling in order to keep shooting forwards if you try to fire an mp5 one-handed. Now imagine that just for turning around or raising your weapon. No weight is shitty because it lets you swing that 50cal around with unbalanced levels of speed and precision but it's preferable to often feeling disconnected from your gun.

Melee weapons have a middleground where the weapon is a pool noodle like in Gorn and I don't know if a game has ever tried that with guns.

How the fuck did that work again? is all I have to do is..

Both open, sometimes i blink with one eye to make brain see sights with whichever eye is looking through them. It's great, you get very clear view on what's going on this way, you keep depth perception, and most of the time arms are kinda auto-aiming once you get used to it, you just initially align sights and brain automates the rest.

Also, there's a neat trick with long range rifles

as I've played through more and more maps I've become jaded and I've grown to notice that 90% of maps play mostly the same with only up & down notes, standard "flow". Even when I've set my expectations low I'd still be completely let down by a map having no interesting patterns, not using horizontal notes at all and me beating the map on the first try with a good score because the map was being overly safe.
Thankfully there is some kind of effort now to combat this by accepting a wider variety of mapping in ranked.

It's going to be open source so anyone can use one for thread posting map links. But I guess you have a point of it being against site rules.
It can in theory fly under the radar if it only posts new world inks every 15 mins or so about the average amount of time people stay in a world during world hop explorations.

Calendar is good for planning in advance. But not for actually mobilizing people that there is an active event occurring. Thread posts in my experience garner a lot more in terms of exploration buddies. Specially newbies.

VRchat really have to have a detector in their system if something is off or on for the avatar ranking system. Something like a dynamic checker in the world could work. Handled by the master of the world, and scans people's avatars one avatar every 5 seconds or so for shouldn't take too much cpu from the master.
Heck if you really want they can just bake it to scan it locally per player then just submit that data to the server. Only problem with that is a mod that could intercept it but we know only a few script kiddies will do that.

The tracking is identical with the exception being, you can use bows easier.

Pavlov and Boneworks work just fine.

Tried out the outlier demo, it's pretty good.
I wasn't sure what to make of it's movement system until one of the enemies was literally just the bell assholes from ROR2, and then I realised you're supposed to play the game like ROR2. It's made so that it's only playable in VR, so it has potential to be better than the ROR VR mod, but it feels like it might be too gimmicky, since every action is mapped to a different arm flail and you'll have to perform 3 actions at once.

I played it too, but I honestly don't think that it's that great. As you pointed you it's just flailing your arms in several ways simultaneously to throw as much bullet down the line as you can at fairly standard enemies. If they made things more interesting by adding projectiles you could shoot down, shields and weak points on the enemies, it could be a lot more interesting. I did like how something were implemented though, like the gun where you have to flick it back to draw the stones back to you, dealing extra damage to anyone in the way.

I really liked the crystal gun, yeah. The spell/upgrade system needs tweaking and it isn't good as a game yet, but I liked it as a demo. I hope they just rip off ROR2 completely with mostly-static maps, constantly spawning enemies, and money to unlock randomly placed chests. I really wish there were a way to test headsets, but unless you live in a big city with a diverse VR arcade you just have to buy and hope for the best. Only headset I've tried was the Oculus Rift, but I couldn't see anything close up. I got stuck in a puzzle game room because you had to read a code but the massive letters were still blurry.
