id like exa: the infinite instrument a lot which is similar but you cant add any sound effects and it sounds really dry playing instruments with no reverb

then theres synthVR but it doesnt have midi input or any way of directly inputting notes to the synths, they have to be sequenced or tuned or modulated within the game to change pitch

i kind of like synthspace which does have midi input, but the dev hasn't updated it in forever (apparently they got another job) and it's still missing a bunch of basic modules. Limitations do breed creativity, i guess.

Exa does at least support midi output so you can use it with loopMIDI to drive a daw or actual hardware synths with any effects you want. a pain to set up though.

Synthspace isn't that hard to use; you get a tiny "interact point" at the end of your hand and once you grip a knob you get a bigger virtual dial and fine adjust as you pull back. The 'realistic' modules do look nice too.

I wouldn't both trying to get it until the dev starts updating again though. I'm in the same boat with synthVR, waiting for any significant updates or ideally custom module support before i get it. Until then, VCV rack is comfy enough.

In other VR music programs, if you're into DJing, there's Vinyl Reality, which is more of a retro turntable sim where you have to beatmatch by hand still, or TribeXR which is a simulated modern DJ setup.

Hellsweeper is tons of fun just from the playtest. The airdashing already is making me like the movement more than Sairento's even. I'm not sure if juggling is doable in the current playtest, but I'm going to have fun going DMC on all of the baddies once you can. That and being able to slide on top of enemies as in the trailer will be cool. The fact that they managed to make waggle melee interesting to compensate for guns being less useful than in Sairento helps.

That never worked for me, but since then, I've been toying around with rotation constraints for a different thing, and I had to go in Blender to change the bone rolls so that it would match the axis freezing in the Unity constraint. strongly recommending you to crank down your ffb if it's really that bad. not cause you sweat, just because if your ffb works at full power during normal driving, it has no power left to relay you more/less subtle signals, and then you can't really feel what ffb is doing well. imagine sending super loud heavy bass audio signal to a speaker and it lets out this distorted brap instead of a nice smooth tone, that's ffb at full power, it can no longer hit you stronger/weaker because weak signal is already very strong


tl;dr try cranking ffb strength down and see if it feels nicer, cause it should

My favorite of these experiences was when I fell asleep in VR with full body for the first time after getting really high the night before, woke up still a little stoned and my brain spent about 30 seconds right after waking up still in vrchat where I forgot that I had a meat body and I had pure, total, 100% phantom senses. I do this except with a wireless quest 2 and I do it in vrchat as well. I'm taking a few hours break right now, though, I do it nearly every day and it's become my default PC usage.

I have no weird balance or geometry looks borked issues IRL.

However, I do instead now have schizophrenia or something because I can literally see past the layer of "VR" we are on and into the higher realm, now.

not really, i have had FBT for years and open space calibrator used to be really scuffed (owned a Samsung odyssey and a OG vive and I would use it to try and use the vive wands with the odyssey years ago) With the quest 2 space calibrator doesn't really drift ever. OVR Toolkit actually merely came first, which can also indicate that it uses deprecated foundations.

I actually also remember being told not so long ago that OVR Toolkit is copying off xs-overlay these days, which also makes sense considering there's at least 4 devs for xs-overlay while OVR Toolkit is just one guy (AFAIK), so the one guy is playing catch-up all the time.

But you can always just try it out for 2 hours and refund it if it doesn't work for your use cases.

The VR reshade build is fairly recent. Even if you already use an OLED headset or whatever, the sharpening filter can make games look much clearer, especially if any of TAA shit is present. Have fun.

We'll be making a special map which would allow everyone to dole out 6 types of candies to any and all people in the map.

Trick or treating sequence is 40 minutes max so it's also about planning your routes to get to everyone while getting their candies~ Being able to showcase your avatar and convincing as much people as you can to give you candies become paramount in this type of system.

In theory they say it is possible to remember votes via name. So people can stream in or out as necessary.
It'll all depend on how many people actually want to come and TRICK or TREAT.
We have an administrative plan on sharding the map into two instances if we reach a critical amount of people say 60 or so in the map.

This way each of the two maps can be enjoyable to trick or treaters without lagging them out too much. And as you say people will just have to accept the votes/candies are mainly from those who are in the map rather than the whole of /vrg/ just because of the limitations of VRchat map sizes.
