Hoping someone could assist me, or point me in the right direction. I'm trying to learn how to create animations using shaders and shit for some projects I have in mind and for the life of me I cannot get this stupid shit to work.

after spending what felt like 10 straight hours, I got shit how I want it, but no matter what I do I can't get the shader to let me toggle it. The effect won't work unless I just leave it on, but I want to be able to turn it off and on with a toggle in a menu, but literally nothing works. What the fuck am I doing wrong? The gameobject the shader is attached to isn't a selectable object in the animation window, so I can't create an on/off state for it. What am I doing wrong? Is there any info on how to do this correctly? Every tutorial is for 2.0 and outdated, or just outdated as fuck. I just want to create an animation I can toggle, with the effects from this shader but apparently I'm fucking retarded, or unity is just dogshit.

It also depends on the shader if it's sliders are capable of being modified.

Poiyomi allows you change each slider if you rightclick the slider I think it adds a clock icon on the left so when you compile it it's editable for animation purposes.

That's it's name. It's just a grid on the floor with a mirror in front of you, a default skybox with default lighting and literally nothing else. Less than one MB size, loads instantly. Anyone know why playing emotes and then ending them makes you transition to the idle pose for a split second before IK is reenabled? I have my own custom action layer and animations. I experimented with setting the transition times and durations to 0 but it didn't work. How do I make it immediately cut from the emote back to IK?

VRChat is helping me realize how fake all human interaction is.

I've been hanging out with a friend for a while and he recently changed his avatar. His old avatar has a default smiling face and lots of smiling gestures, whereas his new avatar has a default bored/sad face and lots of faces look like they're uninterested or filled with disgust or disdain.

Even though my friend acts exactly the same around me this entire time, in the past I used to feel like he's always happy to see me, and now I just feel uncomfortable around him and like I'm doing something wrong or there's something bad about me.

and then, you have to still message that person every now and then and invite them to do things you both like together. you can't expect them to permanently "be your friend" (i.e. trying to arrange doing stuff together with you) unconditionally for all eternity if you never do the same yourself.

is your goal really a friend, or is your goal just feeling desired?

This is certainly true. I remember probably the most popular person in /vrg/, at least at the time, realizing that other people don't have the entire room run up to greet them when they join.

All I've personally found is that it's impossible to make friends without being part of some exclusive group, either in VR or Discord. There's someone who I exchange messages with almost every day but we almost never actually do anything together because their inner circle server comes first. How can I as an individual possibly compete with a group of tens, maybe hundreds of people? They do that server's activity, then meet those people in VRchat, then if they want to play something else they've probably already been invited by someone from there. The only way we ever do anything is if they've exhausted all options from that group, and from their other DMs. I'm probably not even their last resort.

Every person I've ever found already has this kind of commitment that makes me the extremely low priority backup option. The people who aren't already heavily involved in a community are impossible to find because they never log in because they have no-one to see. Without god tier social skills, a bout of extreme luck, or living in VRchat, you're never making it into one of these groups in the first place.

In summary, I completely disagree that popularity is an illusion. Without popularity you're never going to be involved in anything.

it's impossible to make friends without having something in common with someone else. I think the reason I'm able to make friends quickly is because

2. I actually like trying out all sorts of different things, so being open to various stuff increases my pool of "potentially has interests in common" people

but that's it. it's not some secret chad power that autistic people can't have. you literally just need to have hobbies, talk to a lot of people, and don't waste your time on the wrong places. you can't force someone who has no potential to be your friend to suddenly be your friend. instead, keep roaming around and find the right people.

This is probably the core issue. I have to force myself to do anything. I have a list of things to do every day to ensure I don't just spend it all idly browsing the internet and watching youtube videos. Anime nights are twice weekly for seasonal stuff. There are occasional random anime movie nights.

roughly, you make an animation that sets the emission intensity high, and an animation that sets it low, then make a 1d blend tree driven by the Viseme animation parameter. the Viseme parameter is 0 when silent and nonzero for anything else, or if you change the avatar to jawflap mode, it's just 0-100 based on how loud you talk.
