I am a bit over the poly limit yeah. This is definitely an ongoing project. Being able to do the initial conversion with a few clicks and getting something immediately playable in vrchat was a huge boost to my enthusiasm but I might have to start over from scratch when I learn enough.

Static meshes aren't linked to the skeleton at all, and don't have any animations on them. They have to be parented to the bone in unity by dragging them to the bone they should move with (usually head, chest, or hips). You can export a mesh as a static mesh from Blender by removing the "Armature" modifier before exporting the .fbx file, though you also have to make sure the mesh doesn't have any shapekeys on it.
You can also just add static models in separate .fbx or .obj files after you have the model in Unity.

Coop event! This time we are cooperating with tuesday movies to bring this one of a kind event. On tuesday (16th of November) L gonna show the Ford vs Ferrari movie, 24 hour LeMans race of 1966. Next monday after that we will race the same cars, at the same track.
It's gonna be a proper endurance race similar to 24 minutes of Spa, but this time we'll actually do the endurance bit. Usually our events take around 1.5 hours, so this time we'll have 30 minute practice/qualifiers and then 1 hour race. Use your arrow keys/dpad or remap it to controll the pit crew (we most likely will need to refill/change tyres)

If you're over the poly limit and have purely static props, you can usually get away with decimating the props in blender (planar and/or collapse) without much issue. muh topology doesn't matter if the meshes aren't deforming. Sometimes MMD models have some hideously detailed tiny props too, where the author just slapped in a subdivision surface from somewhere and dgaf, so you can definitely save some polys.

Into the Radius. New update is really good. Plays a little bit differently with the tide mechanic but honestly the biggest difference to me is that enemies don't drop cores. Now it's not a process of killing enemies to make money, it's an investment to your safety for the next couple hours of runs. Quick in and out dashes it's worthwhile to avoid everything and sneak in. On main routes to hot areas it's best to kill everything on your way so getting back is safer and so you don't get flanked. Also close to the tide it's best to just gunning it for quick money without getting into fights. You've got to think about how much use you're going to get out of the route versus how much you're spending on ammunition and maintenance to clear it.

if you have 5ghz wifi/wifi6 there isn't much reason to use a cable. if you want 15+ feet there needs to be an active repeater, my old link set up used one, but in my opinion going wireless using virtual desktop has been a far superior experience

You shouldn't need any DLC, and the mods you'll need are in the Mega below. Had to update the NSX to fix an issue with certain CSP versions, so you'll need to redownload that if you'd already grabbed it.

For 787B on Suzuka, the trick is really lowering tyre pressures, the car is crazy under and oversteery on all corners, but especially the medium speed ones, as well as some more ticks on the aero. Nothing crazy, but enough to really make it usable, and make sure to really be light on the throttle out of corners in 1st because the 787B's 1st gear is a bat out of hell.

1.0's single map is a little bigger than Zaton. In 2.0 the zones are smaller, although the biggest zones like Factory and Kolhoz are pretty close to the zones in Shadow of Chernobyl. Hard to compare directly. usually a square km or two. That seems small but VR eyesight is bad even with a good HMD and gun optics and you're moving at normal human pace, not video game sprinting speeds so it will take you a while to explore. The best scope can be adjusted from 4x up to 20x but anything you couldn't see without an 8x is going to be lost in the fog anyway.

Mods make it run and work pretty well, though the VR mechanics have never gotten to the level of Skyrim VR's sadly. You need to pirate the flat game to get the DLC too. Inspired by a recent post and comment. Because seriously, the amount of hate and shit that mirror dwellers get thrown at them is so absurdly unhelpful that it reaches the point of simply serving to cause harm. But to start, let me tell you what I mean by mirror dweller (skip if you already know):

a mirror dweller is someone who sits in front of a mirror, sometimes with others, sometimes alone. They're probably not super talkative and in groups they may just have a small conversation or not while they show affection for other people in the form of headpats, nuzzling, or cuddling.

Think mirror dwellers are asocial losers and outcasts? Good thing you're there to tell them how being different is bad and that sitting in front of a mirror is for losers, that will definitely make them want to be social for sure.

Anyone who is genuinely bothered by this and finds it creepy needs to pull their head out of their ass and realize that not everyone has the same brain. In order to avoid this guy's fuckup, you have to take the initiative: find some nice looking people and tell them you're new to the meetups and /vrg/ etc then suffer through the interrogation of how are you liking vr and modelling questions and such. Your ingame body follows your real one. It's really difficult to describe, it's just that once you start using it, you'll never want to stop. You can take any position, sit down, lie down, stand at any angle, and you'll always know exactly how you look like to others, your body will always be where you expect it to be once you see it in the corner of your eye. This gives you a different kind of sense of presence, you feel more in-game and less playing-the-game. It also gives you more freedom of expression, you can't pretend curb stomp someone in 3-point, you can't sit on someone's back, you can't blend into environment the way you'd want to.

Just tried it.

The gun sounds are improved, especially on shotguns which used to sound like a spring. The still have some kind of unusual sound setting that makes everything kinda fever dreamish, but less so than before. The sprinting footsteps are way too fast, so it sounds like you're taking tiny baby steps. I'm not sure when it was changed, but the horrible suppression effect is gone and the visiblity is no longer terrible.

There's new menus again. They're faster for changing loadouts, and I guess more professional looking than the floating guns. 16 player servers are now possible, but I thought that was already the case. Maybe it was 12 before. The new guns are pretty similar to existing ones, aside from the SPAS 12 with permanently folded stock which is kinda awkward.

The new animations look good, much more natural than other VRFPS, but they don't seem to handle certain things well, like when someone sprinted around a corner and fired at me, it still had their head and legs in the sprint animation, but the torso and gun were IK controlled so it was awkwardly rotated. Maybe it was a latency issue because I was getting the Pavlov problem where magazines won't go in. They generally look less awkward than normal IK solutions though.

It's an improvement, but I don't think it completely changes anything and there's still some jankiness about the game.

The co-op mode is not great but it has potential. The enemies attack in waves and there's some good variety with regular dudes, heavies and dogs. You get cash/points that you spend on weapons, ammo and perks at rotating locations. It feels a bit jank and unrefined but that's Contractors as a whole.
The main issue with it is that enemies are bullet sponges unless you headshot and some guns suffer from not having enough ammo to deal with all the enemies in a wave unless you're very precise.

The trick is to get a non-overused face THEN you attach it to a good sexy body. After which you change the hair as well to a different one. You are a lot more unique than 99% of people already just doing this.

There's actually a lot of good faces in booth that are unique. The problem arises in that most booth modelers suck at making good bodies, joints, tummies, necks, shoulders, hands you name it.

(1) there's a small button inside the texture editor where it pops up (3) on the right side where you can change and customize each layer.
Each layer have their own customizer so experiment a bit.

Sometimes there's no other way to make the two compatible as seen at (2). This small patch needs to be edited in blender by pulling the vertex out a bit.
