The version in VRC at least doesn't get any of the updates or cool mods that the flat version has. I'd love to see mods, new maps, 15 player lobbies, new roles, etc. but the Udon map doesn't seem to be updated at all.

That said there's no telling whether the VR version will get any of that either. I wouldn't be surprised given that VR devs are known to barely put any content into their games. The I Expect You To Die games from the same devs are only two hours each after all. I'm largely expecting that there will be very little content+high upfront charge or microtransactions and a squeaker playerbase as bad as the VRC version.

Get your vrlegs before ripping into anything heavy. Space pirate trainer is the go-to pick up and play first time vr game and still looks great today.

So the easy difficulty is actually a reasonable challenge. Normal difficulty is pretty good too with a decent handful of moments of high stress. Gets easier when you've figured out how to reload fast and slap heads. Bosses are a huge threat too but I've learned a few tricks to deal with each one. Atmosphere is great too, nice aesthetic where things have become somewhat futuristic but using old tech.
Very nice game. Would recommend. Hope it keeps getting updates and such. More levels and objectives would be great. Little bit of optimisation is needed in some of the indoors areas and there's problems with the wall colliders getting people stuck but overall well polished.

Map making is getting polished and finished now. Pretty hyped. Physical gifts has been mostly delivered. Hope nothing bad occurs on that end.

Looking for comments on them if you have some, would be very helpful.

Design will incorporate a lot of culling walls and on top of that we'll limit it to 22(44) people instance similar to the speed dating map.
The festival map worked at 30(60) but we did have a rule to only go in the event with Excellent/Good avatar.
We'd be really glad if everyone comes with an excellent/good avatar too.
But this year's map is designed to work with medium/poor avatars just incase. We have backup hosts for sharding instances as needed.
On top of having 4 separate timezones to reduce the load as much as possible across log-in times.

If you have any other ideas to mitigate the risk I'm all ears.

It's still a gift box it's just themed as if it's a capsule.
It will act exactly the same as the last 3 year's gift box.
You hold it and then hit trigger to make it show what's inside.

The gacha machine is just a simple animation after you place a coin and click a button to spawn your gift.
If you don't want to do a simple game to get the coin you can ask the host for a free coin.
If you don't want to do that, the host himself can spawn the gift for you.

What if it's just a perspective thing anon. The gacha machine can be pulled and animated by anyone. But the gacha boxes have names on them.

While I do like having the experimental stuff as spice for events. This might be a good idea.
I can just finalize a simple version of gift opening udon gift box we can use for perpetuity.

It does sound limiting though but if we do have enough of a demand for super duper simple repeating event for christmas.
I'm probably going to hold a poll in the christmascord for it for next year. So every secret santa's voice will be heard. They are the real heroes of the event making all the gifts for another anon is loving and caring work.

Very few people are going to say negative things in VR face to face due to concern over their reputation and just generally being non-confrontational.
Personally I think the gacha theme is dumb and shoehorned in, and a Christmas event only needs to be Christmas. Open gifts around a tree. It's a simple formula. I was trying to get into pavlov at one point and I was fine with skill gap, that just means I have to work harder to get better. Smaller games were better too, something like 8vs8 was too chaotic to comprehend for me as a new player.
Reason I stopped is because I think there's a problem with connection or netcode or something, people constantly killed me without me being able to see them on my screen. It got to the point where I started doing recordings and watching through them to make sure I'm not salty. Most of the time I had enemy visible on my end for 0 to around 100ms before they killed me.
That's what killed any desire to play the game for me. But if it worked better I would definitely put in more hours into it, despite being mostly fodder at the start.

Good trucking lads. Playing the game nomadically and taking what jobs are available town to town is definitely the best way to play this game. My fellow car man, i was confused about camber yesterday and today i checked on my own, you might be wrong about less negative camber being a positive offset to negative camber which would cause less camber = more camber. If you walk out of the car in VR and play with camber settings, you'll notice that negative camber grows along with negative value in car settings, meaning -3 is more negative camber than -2 after all. So, unless they actually render the wheel wrong compared to what is happening in physics/tyre model, camber settings should be read normally after all.

So there is no Modding planned (at this moment) for After the Fall
BUT I can understand why and I argue that this is actually 1 VR game where it's justified that the Devs don't add it in.
Unlike most VR games, this is fairly ambitious as it has crossplay with Quest 1, Quest 2 and PC...Normally I wouldn't give a shit and don't like Questies BUT I'm giving it a pass because of the one extra group they've added in Crossplay for, PSVR.
They are trying to do a Mini-Version of a "Metaverse" for their game, united no matter the platform. Which is honestly really fucking neat imo, seeing users on their PS4 VR headsets playin with PC users is really cool and kinda wholesome in a way.

So trying to do modding for this game, would cause issues with those other platforms.
You'd either have to cut the PC users out of the Crossplay, or make it so Modded lobbies exist, but that still breaks that "Metaverse" their going for.
Mods on Consoles are unheard of outside of Bethesda games, iirc it was only on the Xbox too.
Quest, I don't see Facebook playing ball with it.

And of course the giant problem is optimization for each of those consoles
No modder is gonna make variants of the same content for other platforms they don't use.

So yeah while it does suck that there is no Modding support and we may never have it for the game

I don't see any issues with just not restricting mods for PC players. Like with Risk of Rain 2 or PAYDAY 2, modders themselves are pretty good at sorting out when to pull themselves out of the "main" matchmaking system/serverlist or not. Index is still better imo, but if value per dollar spent enters the equation at all then the Quest 2 wins out. From numbers I've pulled out of my ass, I'd say that an Index is only like 50% better than a Quest 2, even though the price is 230% more.

To be fair, it's not that bad even from autism larp point of view. Most popular rally events tend to take place in same locations repeatedly, meaning rally drivers tend to know most of their stages from experience before they drive. Also, even if they wouldn't, they're still allowed to drive slowly in normal cars, check the stage, and obviously make pace notes. Even in smallest, lowest-tier rally events, where you basically do autocross over some small location, you always get a printed map + opportunity to drive slowly through the stage before actual timed runs begin. I'd say it's not a bad idea to practice before event, especially when you struggle to do it.

Just try to drive on pace notes rather than from memory, the single most infuriating thing to do in DR is trying to remember the track and then driving from memory. During 10min+ stage, pace notes are doing far better job at keeping you safe than your memory, unless you really grinded all of those tracks for hundreds of hours to the point where you clearly remember every corner. Practicing actual driving on co-driver calls is both the good way to satisfy your autism and actual good way to get a good time, compared to trying to time trial through the stage at insane speeds and crashing it out repeatedly.

during events we tend to drive repeatedly over same parts of the stage because dirt rally locations are usually 2 big stages split into 2 short springs and then all of that is forward + reverse, so not much content to worth with when you want event to be 30-45min. i always, *always* fuck up repetitive parts because i feel like i remember those places and therefore can go faster and more careless.

I only play DR2 and the end of the week, when it's time for the vrg time trial. I have like 10 hours played. I don't know any of the tracks. I use clutch and a h-shifter. I don't practice, I don't warm up, I pick what car looks the coolest and I jump straight in. I don't pay attention to the pace notes, and I'm using the Japanese co-driver. I don't use a handbrake for hairpins, I slow down and downshift into 1st or 2nd, using left foot braking if I can. I feel like I'm finishing last, but I'm having more fun than you guys.

I crash when the track trolls me. Today my rear tire got caught in the gutter on one of the stages and I almost went into the forest. On the other one since I'm not listening to the co-driver I flew off the track on that spot where you're going uphill and can't really see the right turn when you get to it. There's a right turn where you go between two poles, and there's a stack of logs on the right. Flew straight into the logs, somehow didn't flip and basically took a shortcut. Shit was hilarious. If only I was recording.

Did it change a lot since Alpha? I remember trying Iron Rebellion almost a year ago but that was more like Hawken or something. Didn't see any similarities to VO.
Virtual On is by far my favourite mech game and nothing else quite scratches that itch, wish we'd get something new but similar. I'm a bit sick of playing Oratorio Tangram on and off for over 20 years now.

I was thinking how this behemoth of a downhill would be a bigger hell to memorize than the Green one, and did a quick search for a codriver mod, if one even existed seeing as the combination of track and car reminds me of rally. Sure enough, it does, and it seems really really decent, robot voice aside (someone actually did record an OK-ish human voicepack for this mod, link below).
Would you endorse the idea of using this mod for the time trial or do you think one should just suck it up and memorize the track?
