About fucking time. Looks like they tried fixing the Index grip issue, now it's bound to finger curl instead of capacitive activation. Don't know if this'll work better though, having it bound to grip force was quite janky in its own way but it worked much more reliably. There was one custom control scheme that somewhat fixed throwing and it worked really nice.

Cooking Simulator VR is really fun. It's really satisfying attempting recipes, getting the hang of the mechanics, buying new kitchen equipment and attempting to pull off more elaborate dishes in record time for the campaign. It got updated with a new kitchen too and they are adding more. I voted for it as the VR GOTY.

Medal of Honor is OK but I pirated it rather than asking whatever EA/Respawn is charging. What a shitty dev, I have no idea why people think of them so highly. But I'd say that the game is serviceable and certainly worth a play for free.

The previous thread responses say that I can turn off my monitor but when I'm connected through Virtual Desktop the whole screen turns black afterwards. Not sure about the turning monitor off thing. If you can't figure out a solution, you could try minimizing the game windows so they don't show up on the screen? Windows key + D should hide everything, even applications in fullscreen.

If the model had just about any custom work done to it, or it was a commission, then it's bad and you shouldn't do it.
If it's just a reupload of a model that's either completely public, or is technically "public" but is under extremely tight lock and key (or no longer available), I think it's fine.
There was this really cute Pramanix MMD model a while back, but the chinks hoarded the model and put it up on a site specifically meant to keep out the "foreigners". I felt absolutely ZERO shame ripping that model from a public avatar, fuck those people.
Overall I would say it's bad, but I will make exceptions for things like models that are literally no longer available (such as timed sales), or models that have some gay password behind them.

The Quest is underpowered, but still decent when link cable'd to a PC. Of course, you still have the same issues with having to deal with either a wire or a pulley if you do that.
Standalone or wireless, the Quest fucking sucks. They literally had to gimp Beat Saber and Robo Recall to fit it on Quest. Those are both dead-simple and quite minimalistic games that are made to still run on a literal toaster. And the Quest couldn't even handle THAT. How does it feel?

if you put the dynamic bone component directly onto the root bone, then yes, you can just do it with an animation.
if you put all your dynamic bone components directly onto your avatar root, they will look different (i.e. worse), and toggling a component with an animation means you toggle ALL of them on/off. so just don't do that and you'll be fine

it varies, but for best results you should put the component on the root bone itself (such as the hair root). it's not about stacking components on the same bone, it's something about which object you put it on and how things are scaled.
if you put it directly on your avatar object, you may notice that your hair or clothes move by A LOT whenever you move IRL, or if you fall. That's because the "Inert" option seems to stop working.
if you put it on your "armature" object this tends to happen less often.

You can easily test if this happens to you by setting the "Inert" option on your dynamic bone components to 0.999 or 1. Then enter play mode and drag your avatar around in the editor. The bones *should* not move at all. If they do move, you should put the component on the specific root bone instead. For some reason that makes it behave differently.
I assume it's a scaling issue, so it might vary based on your FBX export settings too.

Yes, there is a wabbajack pack (Ultimate VR Essentials).
Though I recommend just following the linked google docs VR starter guide on with Vortex or Mod Organizer 2, so you can add more mods to your own liking more easily. Keep in mind this will take a bit of time.
The melee is so-so. The magic and archery feel really good, but the melee is a bit unimmersive because you can't actually block attacks like in Blade & Sorcery, you just hold your sword out in front of you to activate "block mode".

I've been meaning to play Enderal again as a full mage, but i can't be fucking arsed to tinker it

I installed the k2vr and in the steam vr "void" the trackers show up and are somewhat accurate. Then I started VRChat and my avatars constantly t-pose. I had three white bubbles (kinect trackers? they were moving with my feet so it was recognised) plus my index controllers show up.
I hit the recalibrate in vrcs menu a few times but nothing changed.

To some degree, every native VR game does that. Blade and Sorcery is peak "multiple ways to approach combat" game and i think you'll like it if you liked Boneworks, Alyx is a must try because despite restricted gameplay freedom, it remains most polished and well-made VR game around, recently we got Primitier and it's kinda worth a try if you liked free demo, but even in something as simple as Pavlov you see people doing dumb shit like double wielding or blind cover fire all the time.
